Leveling complete, 2nd levels spells yay! :D

I was going to say Bollwerk doesn't even need a level of sorcerer due to his Tiefling SLA (as per the new-ish FAQ on SLAs qualifying peeps for prestige class requirements). Unfortunately the DD pre-req is for spontaneous 1st levels spells and shatter is 2nd level on all spell lists :(
I'd say it's worth dropping a single point of BAB for +4 STR (After 4 levels of DD), but not necessarily balanced against losing 4 levels of paladin class abilities. Especially as there's no good way to arcane cast in heavy armour!
Anyway the *real* question is would it be true to the character's concept? To which I suspect the answer is a heartfelt 'no' ;p

Hey, everyone. I'm switching characters. I wasn't enjoying playing a swashbuckler as much as I thought I would, and Old Guy GM has graciously allowed me to roll up a new one. Dieter will disappear into the sunset and try to join up with some crusaders to fight evil.
I will introduce my new guy when OGGM gives the go-ahead. And don't worry, my new character is going to be much more of a team player. ;)

Right now we have 4: Bollwerk, Farasha, Kazul, and - soon to be - Sjurd. About where I thought we'd end up. If it's ok, I'm going to run with you 4 for a while, to see how it goes. In this campaign, the PCs get powerful quickly, provided they survive until the end of the first book.
Keep that in mind: you are just 4, play accordingly. You have some support: Anevia and Aravasnial specifically. I've avoided using them because of your numbers, but don't count too heavily on them.
What I'm trying to say is:
Don't die.

So... I haven't played a cleric or devout worshiper of a god before, and so went with gut feel/instinct around what would happen in a time of war versus what Farasha's beliefs are and how they interact with Desna's vision such as it is. With no clear guidance I hope her actions are within the realm of her alignment and that of her goddess, as I do intend them to be.
If they are not then I am happy to retcon, it is not my intent to have Farasha go rogue or 'off piste, exemplifying the ideals of Desna is important to her. It is just in this instance I felt it more important to remove a perceived threat to the common folk's freedom, combined with feeling the hand of her goddess luck-wise in their arriving literally in the nick of time.
Anyways, happy to have feedback!

Same here. It is always difficult to pass a death sentence, but in an invasion to have a plunderer and murderer running free just sounds wrong.
In the german military of the past, if an officer was caught doing a criminal act, he always was given the chance to commit suicide to lessen the shame. This is for bollwerk his chance for redemntion, a last try to show sincerity and to accept the consequences-.

My two cents:
First: You are at war. That will drive behaviors and activities that you may not normally be used to.
Second: Being at war does not mean that you should just slaughter everyone that surrenders. Redemption is a key tenet of Wrath of the Righteous.
Third: I believe you judged correctly on this guy. I think you see that now. I'd like to think that I presented him in a way that made your choices make sense. That said...
Fourth: Sense Motive, Detect Evil, Detect Lie, etc are key abilities to have. Every situation will be different, and there are are quite a few of them in Wrath. The history of the Worldwound is rife with infiltrators, witch-hunts, etc, so it is important that the era's greatest heroes be able to discern the good guys from the bad guys.
Lastly: I did not expect that at all! The honor-suicide was a great touch. One of the things I love about running a game with a different group of people from what I am used to in my RL games! Also, it illustrate one of the strengths of the PbP format: you have time to think through your replies and actions. Makes for a great story narrative.

Yeah we don't usually have the luxury of a long out thought course of action in the RL games. I play a merciful cleric in his real life game, so I couldn't advocate anyone's death. I usually leave those things up to our paladin of Iomedae.
But playing the merciful cleric really fits into the redemption aspect of this AP. My cleric has gone through a lot of "tense" situations. I look forward to reading how you guys deal with them in the future.

Thanks all for your opinions, I'm reassured I made the right decision this time. The key thing to carry forward is sincere redemption should be met with sincere mercy.
Didn't apply in this case though :p

Hey guys -- I want to apologize for having vanished from this game. Life got very busy back in September. I started teaching at a new college. While I had time to keep up with the games, what I didn't take into account was how much spare "mental energy" I'd have. (Or, whatever metaphor you want to use for whatever reservoir it is that we have to keep up with the number of different things we have to think creatively about during one week.)
I hope the game is going well for all of you, and I apologize for having vanished from it.

Sweet Lucille |

I just wanted to pop in quickly and apologize very sincerely for disappearing -- I had a family emergency which came up very suddenly which has been absorbing all my attention. Things aren't really back to normal yet, but they're a *lot* better than they were.
I hope all is going well -- this is a great game with an awesome group and I hope you are showing those demons who's boss.

Merry Christmas!
Farasha wishes you and your loved ones a wonderful festive holiday, wherever you are I hope you're having a dreamy time ;p

GM: three times now I've been a butterfingers with the dropdown list figuring out which character to post with, and as such have three aliases in the game that aren't really there. I haven't figured out how to remove one of my aliases from a game I don't GM; does anybody else know how to do that?
In any event, can you kick out the following three aliases:
* Asturia Stargazer
* Birch the Pathfinder
* Darshan the Pathfinder
They're all me, having accidentally posted under the wrong name because I released pop-up widget on the wrong name and pushed "Submit Post" without checking first. (Foolish me, I know.)

I'll try. I've taken Previewing everything first, but I still post under the wrong alias occasionally.

I want to type up a bit of a summary partly for my own purpose as well. One problem with PbP games is that it can be hard to keep track of and remember what's happened. You can forget points in the story! I'm going to quickly go back through the in-game posts and try to put that into the summary of what happened that Fabian gives, and spell it all out rather than keep it abstract so that I'll have the post to refer to again in the future.
I'll need to continue it later, though, as I have to run right now....
