I would like to play through Dragon's Demand. Before I buy the module and assemble players, I need someone to school me a little bit:
This adventure promises to take characters to level 7 but the PDF download which explains how to run DD as a PFS game clearly says "each Chronicle sheet awards 3xp .... a player who plays plays through the entire module using the alternate play option and applies all three chronicle sheets to the same character earns a fourth chronicle sheet.. "
Can anyone explain to me how 4 chronicle sheets worth 3 xp each take a pfs character to level 7?
4*3xp= 12xp = level 4 not 7.
What am I missing?
The character you play D.Demand with is not a PFS character. You get a chronicle sheet that you can then apply to a PFS character when you complete D.Demand.
Agreed! Thanks Cubic Prism. But the XP awarded would not make a 7th level PFS character. Should I just understand that the XP for the module is enough to make a normal character lv 7 but PFS character only lv 4?
The Xp awarded makes a regular character 7th, not a PFS character.

It's actually slightly more complicated than that...if you look at the Chronicles, they are for Tier 1-3, Tier 3-5 and Tier 5-7, with the capstone chronicle for Tier 2, 4 or 6. So, the best bet is to give them all to a PFS character that is Level 3 - he will then go straight to level 7. A character starting under level 3 has to somehow get XP after the first chronicle before he can apply the rest.
Bear in mind, you can also, in theory, play the PFS-sanctioned portions as standalone adventures, but you then don't get the capstone chronicle.

Here's the full explanation:
Play Dragon's Demand in Campaign Mode, using whatever system you like, whatever rules you like etc.
When you're done award each player the 3 sheets to assign to PFS characters. Anybody who chooses to apply all 3 to the same character you should also award the 4th bonus sheet to that character. (And will generally follow the pattern below)
If the character they were applying it to is level 1:
Apply the 1-3 sheet. The 2 Bonus Sheet and the 3-5 sheet. Leaving them at level 4 with a sheet pending that will apply when they get to level 5
If the character they were applying it to is level 2:
Apply the 1-3 Sheet. Apply the 3-5 Sheet. Apply the Bonus sheet at 4 and then apply the 5-7 sheet, leaving them at level 6.
If the character they were applying it to is level 3:
Apply the 1-3 Sheet. Apply the 3-5 Sheet. Apply the 5-7 sheet. Apply the bonus sheet at 6, leaving them at level 7.

Or you can play in PFS mode. In PFS Mode The Dragon's Demand is basically 3 modules that are playable by PFS characters.
Part 1: The Blood Vow Lair (areas B1–B20) 1–3
Part 2: Hunclay’s Cave, Auction, 3–5 and Crypt of Tula (areas D1–E12)
Part 3: Monastery of Saint Kyerixus (areas F1–G8) 5–7
In this case the 4th bonus sheet is not used at all and can only be done with PFS characters etc.
