If you are looking for TWFing with a Magus, I'd probably look into double weapons. I believe you can wield them in 1 hand as a normal 1h weapon [saw something about JJ saying so, can't recall where], so thats an option when you really need to pull off a Spell Combat, and then you can normally go about fighting. Double-Bladed Sword is a nice option, and fits your flavor.

No, you can't wield a double weapon in one hand. The specific exception is a Quarterstaff wielded in one hand using the Quarterstaff Mastery feat.
(You don't get to to two headed maneuvers with it though)
Otherwise your option with a double weapon is to wield it in two hands and just strike with the one hand.
