I'm really looking at the Mummy's Mask and wanting to subscribe for it.
At the same time I have no interest in the AP after that (Iron Gods).
I'm thinking about subscribing and using a prepaid Credit Card/Visa Gift Card. I'd have enough for MM, but not IG.
Do these cards work on the PAIZO site?
Other than unsubscribing after the release of MM6, is there anything else I'd need to be aware of?

Hey there,
When you sign-up for a subscription with Paizo you will need to enter in a card for us to keep on file for use as the payment method. This is the card that we will authorize as your subscription order is generated each month, and charge as the orders ship.
You can enter in a prepaid card so long as it has the Mastercard, Visa, or Discover logos on the card. Keep in mind that when you enter in your billing address, you will need to enter in the billing address for the card; most prepaid cards have a phone number or website printed on their back where you can discover the card's billing address.
Sometimes prepaid cards can interact weirdly with the authorization process. You might find it easier to use the prepaid card to purchase Store Credit, and then set your subscription to use available credit each release—noting that you still need to have a payment method set to your subscription, even if you are going to use store credit each month.
You may cancel your subscription at any time by emailing customer.service@paizo.com, posting a thread in the Customer Service forum, or by calling us during our hours of operation: 425-250-0800 Monday-Friday from 10am to 5pm PST.

Thank you very much for the quick reply. I'm not certain what you mean when you say purchase store credit. Do you mean like a gift certificate? What is the store credit thing or option. Is it something I could purchase with a normal CC.
The idea is that I can basically pay the money all at once (hence the prepaid card as you pay for it all at once) and then not have to think about it on my budget (so accounted for in one months budget instead of approaching it each month) each month.
Does this store credit thing allow you to do that. What is the store credit thing?
Thanks.

Can someone from Paizo please tell me why you don't allow American Express or Bluebird prepaid Amex?
It is an old post with an explanation from Vic, HERE, but this comes up every once in a while and the same answer is given. Amex charges the vendor (ie. Paizo) significantly more than Visa or MC. Also, Vic and others have said that they revisit this and other payment options periodically to see if it makes sense, like they did with Discover card.

Thx, Papa. I wish they would take another look at it. For me, I'd rather use a pre paid card tht won't nickle and dime me to death than Visa or Mastercard which adds charges to card user for everything. It would just be a lot easier on the consumer. Getting a Visa or Mastercard prepaid just isn't worth the hassle.

I guess that's what Paizo thinks about AMEX/Bluebird. Wish I'd have known before I grabbed one tonight.

It's not that much more. I won't pretend to know about their site volume, but if they are similar to any other retail site out there then the increase in sales will more than offset those who currently pay with visa/mc and would then switch if Amex became available.
It's silly to not take it really, unless they have truly terrible payment processors or their payment processor doesn't offer Amex and they would have to completely rewrite their API. Both scenarios seem highly unlikely to me.

since nobody seems to have answered this - Yes, you buy gift certificates, and then 'gift' them to yourself. This gives you store credit, which you can choose to have used for your subscriptions.
You will still need to have a credit card attached to the subscription, so you will still want to cancel your subscription in July after part 6 comes out.
Also, don't forget to account for shipping. You'll probably also want to monitor the confirmation emails to make sure that shipping isn't increasing.

Hey all!
A couple quick notes:
We're in website feedback. Questions about how to do something on the site should be in customer service. I've directed this to their attention so they can take a look and see if there's anything that still needs to be answered.
Regarding American Express: in short, AMEX charges more for processing. There's no getting around that. It's simply more expensive to take. Right now, we're not willing to take that extra hit in order take accept AMEX.

Please feel free to not answer these questions.
Is the decision to not accept AMEX related to third party, low volume SKU's (ie. $1-$3 pdfs)? It's the only product category on your site that I can imagine would have so slim of margins to make this an issue.
Do these products make up a large enough percent of sales to really makes this concern pressing?

Wow...thank you very very very much. You have given me another option to consider in figuring out the subscription thing!
