My Bi-weekly campaign to sway the non believers

Campaign Journals

I started a new PF Campaign with two 1st ED veterans and two 4E newbies.
The group consists of two Halflings (brothers, My vet players) Rogue and Ranger, respectively.
Two Humans, (also brothers, as they are in real life as well) Paladins, both. 4E kids, but i'll bring them over to us!

I began a few sessions ago, with them escorting a wagon of provisions to a logging camp in the foothills of ice capped mountains. Middle of nowhere kind of settlement.

I'm using a reverse engineer style on this one. As I am having the encounters come to them, at the camp. From the frozen mountaintops.

At first it was goblins and their mounts. Then I had a Yeti attack.

The local loggers asked the heroes to stay on and defend the area while they built a large wooden fence to help defend the place.

Winter wolves attack.

At this point(into session 3) they decide to investigate the mountain.
They discover that the Yeti was provoked by something larger that attacked it's lair, as there were 2 other dead Yeti's in the cave.
After climbing farther, they find a small camp of 2 Frost giants.
This encounter would have worked out well, if only the Ranger hadn't failed the stealth check.

After a successful divide and conquer plan, they defeat the giants and finally get some good loot and decent iron to make better weapons.

The Ranger decided to explore just a little farther, and he finds an entire tribe of frost giants living just below the summit.
The group returns to camp and decides that a fence just isn't enough defense for what could be an onslaught in spring.

And so Today, I will begin session 4, where they will discover an ancient ruined fortress below the dirt and frozen ground. (this was unearthed due to excavating for building stone walls)

Inside this ruin there will be challenges and much better loot to equip them to deal with the threat from the mountain. (not to mention a potential fortress that can be reclaimed)

More news after today.

Last night went well.

Dungeon was cleared with a challenge. No fatalities, which is impressive since there is no Cleric in the group, or any designated healer for that matter.

Now they head up the mountain and try to isolate small numbers of the Frost Giant tribe.
So far, they have succeeded in taking down 12 on the perimeter,

See you in 2 weeks!
