Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

This scenario seems a bit too hard because :

"Then roll 1d6 and add the number of Haunts in front of all players"

There is no indication you have to divide thoses Haunts between characters.

"If the result is 5 or more, summon"

Again, no indication that this is instead so both things happen, each character got 5+ haunt AND one character got an extra haunt and encounter Iesha.

I think it is a case where Card As Written doesn't meet with Card As Intented, or at least not clearly enough "all players" can be read as "every players" or "each players". If the haunt numbers are supposed to be split between heroes this must be clearly said with rules on how to split them (evenly as you wich...)

If that is not the case then the scenario is too luck dépendant as in average after 2 Haunts encounter each character is doomed with a +7 to every check.

Finaly something should be indicated on haunt or scenario card to instruct players on what to do when there is not enough haunt left.

I dont understand the question. As I read this card, it just means that every time you meet a haunt there's a chance you'll also meet Iesha Foxglove (rising to certainty once your party has encountered 4 haunts or more). I dont see how you're going to run out of haunts or where "dividing haunts between characters" comes in? There's enough haunts for a six player game.

As I understood things, if there are already 2 haunts in front of other characters (or in front of me, or some combination of that) and I encounter a third, I place it in front of me and then roll a d6 - if I roll a one then everything is fine. If I roll anything else, I'll have to fight Iesha before I can attempt to close the location.

Oh wait. Were you reading it as "Add 1d6 haunts to the game, distributed (somehow) amongst all the players"? I think it would be worded very differently if that was the intent.

The 1d6 roll is basically a check: if (1d6+haunts on the table, including the one you just encountered) > 5 then Iesha appears.

Yeah, you only get one haunt. It just means once you find the haunt, roll a d6 and add the total number of active haunts to the result. If it's 5 or higher then you find Iesha.

Nathaniel is incorrectly reading the line

"Then roll 1d6 and add the number of Haunts in front of all players"

as

"Then roll 1d6 and add that number of Haunts in front of each player".

The game would have to come with a huge number of haunts if it was taken to mean this :)

Thanks guys, I totally missread it !

To my discharge, that is how some other people read it too on BGG.

You are right I mistakenly saw a "That" where there is a "The" :(
