Quick pointer. Erm... Seren's a dirge bard, not a dervish dancer. >_>
OK I've updated the info in the starting post. Thought you were going the Dervish Dancer before. Guess you changed your mind.

Yeah. Must have forgotten to tell you.

Drake, how are you dressed? That will determine by reaction.

I was told not to have any Solamnic trappings visible for this mission. I am wearing scale mail and have a greatsword sheathed on my back. Currently, to most people, I probably just look like a generic (albeit extremely handsome :P) warrior.

LOL, No te qumes Remy.
Did you see about the old game?

Is there room for another player?

What are the expectations in terms of frequency of posting? :)

Sorry to butt in here, boss, but I was thinking, what if you made the different Factions that you had listed something like the Factions in Pathfinder Society?
If you want help with that, let me know. I can try to write something up such that you can give out Prestige and Fame within those Factions, depending on the PC's affiliation.
What do you think?
Well there is already rules for the factions in Book 3: The Price of Courage. Generally there is rewards people can get depending on their standing with the organizations. For instance at higher faction ratings with the Knights of Solamnia you can get cheaper masterwork items and later get discount on purchasing magical arms and armor directly from the organization. The first milestone is gained once your faction rating reaches +10.

Huh, I didn't know that. Cool! Less work for you!

GM, is should read House Mystic. The c must be cut off due to character count.
Sorry I typo there. As for Kaithanelas, he has traveled in Khur over the past few months so he's got a lot of intelligence on the events in the Silvenesti forest as he's spoke with a lot of refugees and he's a bard so he has a lot of knowledge skills.

Hey all, I want to try my hand at DMing a PbB for the first time and have a recruitment thread called Summer of Chaos for a Dragonlance game. I would like to invite you all.

Quick request for future reference: can we actually roleplay out the sharing of knowledge gained from Knowledge skills? It gives the sense of more immersion, and if I don't think my character would have phrased it in a way that the GM did, it lets me make it more in character for him. Sorry for the trouble folks, but the aspect I most enjoy out of PbPs is the roleplaying one. Hope that's not too much trouble.
Yea I'ed rather have players roleplay out what they share with the other PC's. Terevalis jumped the gun assuming you told the others the information about the sorcerer. For now we'll say you shared the information to avoid slowing things down. In the future though Terevalis do not use knowledge that only other PC's know unless you have a reason of knowing it or the player chooses to divulge it.

Aha! You thought they were talking, I see. That makes sense!
They weren't talking. It was what Seren had already known of the group, to help clarify.

Indeed good sir, but there is a big difference between a novel and a cooperative group based game. ;)
I mean I could play my Knight like Derek Crownguard, but what fun would that be for anyone. :)

Interparty animosity can be entertaining, when done right. It usually requires the GM to keep a careful eye on all participants, and ensure that someone who has authority over each is insisting they at least get along well enough not to harm efficiency. I was in a Pathfinder/Golarion campaign once with a half-orc, an elf of the Mordant Spire, and a dwarf inquisitor of Kol, all of whom were naturally inclined to clash with each other, but their respective authorities insisted they do things together, so each made small exceptions that allowed the plot to move on after a given amount of argument.

Gambit, he is also an evoker so he might be a little hot headed, lol.

DM, if I take levels in WOHS there is the possibility to specialize in the favored schools of my order. Would this still be possible?
Male Qualinesti Dirge Bard 1 Current Map
Isn't that only if you're already a specialist in one of the schools?
M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;
The WOHS PRC allows you to take a specialization at the time you take the class. If you already have specialization in one of the Order's favored schools there are advanced that happen. If not, then you get a double specialization.
Indeed you can specialize in a favored school of your order. Although I'm somewhat iffy about giving you fully blown school powers for your 2nd school. How would you suggest a balanced way to give a 2nd school benefit without giving you all the effects?
I actually thought about it and came with an interesting idea. Your 2nd school does not give you any of the school abilities, but it does give you an additional spell slot per level which only can be used for spells of your chosen school. Of course you also have to give up another school as well due to this focus of specialization.
M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;
Got the idea from Thessolonian magic, where you get additional slots for your specialization in exchange for giving up complete access to certain schools.
Female Carnivorous Flower (AC: 16 [T: 14 /F: 13]; HP: 13/13; F+5, R+3, W+1; Init: +3; Perc: +5 [Scent, Low-light])
Actually, Awd also has a climb speed (10'), but I get the 'he got away' plot point.
Male Elf Hunter (Divine hunter) 1 (AC: 18 [T: 15 /F: 13]; HP: 9/9; F+2, R+7, W+3 [+2 vs. enchantments]; Init: +7; Perc: +9 [Low-light])
I'm reflecting Datura's lower Int by not putting the pieces together, but OOC I'm willing to bet we'll find Aranol with Pegrin, somehow related.
I'm guessing, the elf knows where all the best loot is for the Nerakans to take, as he was made dark for larceny. Just thinking aloud. Sadly, Datura will not likely make these connections.

No fear, Seren's already suspecting it. :D

5 points to whoever gets that reference without looking it up, hell lets make it 10, its kinda obscure.
M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;
What if I were to change my focus now to another of my Order's favored schools? How would that work in terms of taking the PRC?
If you took a favored school of your robe, you'ed have to change your school as well replacing the benefits of your evocation school with the one you chose (Either Abjuration or Divination). Once you become a high mage you either can take the other school you didn't take (and get an additional slot for it) or Double Specialize in the school you're in, where in you'll get yet another bonus slot for spells of your specialization and a +1 caster level. But you must chose an additional opposing school in exchange for this benefit. So generally the benefit for double specializing is +1 caster level, for specializing in 2 schools you get versatility.
M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;
what about say the benefits of being a diviner? They have abilities with initiative that level?
As I said before, your School Advancement stacks with your Wizard of High sorcery levels. So for instance being an 3rd level wizard, 2nd level Wizard of high sorcery counts as 5 wizard levels for school features.
Male Elf Hunter (Divine hunter) 1 (AC: 18 [T: 15 /F: 13]; HP: 9/9; F+2, R+7, W+3 [+2 vs. enchantments]; Init: +7; Perc: +9 [Low-light])
High God, just a quick bit of advice for PbP play, one GM to another.
Sometimes, in a fair amount of PbP's the GM can just roll all the initiatives at once. That way in one post everyone knows which order they go in.
For ease of use, you can setup the macro in the campaign tab (since it doesn't roll the dice function when you write it in) and then just copy paste it everytime.
I do mine alphabetically, so it doesn't look like the names got moved around to avoid any cries of favoritism. Then I do all the monsters/NPC's after the PC's.
Just a helpful tip.
EDIT: Seren, for future reference, using bluff to feint is a standard, without the feat tree for it. Sucks, but it takes a couple feats to get to it. I think it's mainly to keep those with sneak attack from doing it so often.
Sounds like a plan for the future Datura. From now on I will roll inits for the party in a single post. I also have gotten a hang of using google drive to put maps up with moveable miniatures. I already have two maps prepared for the future.
Male Qualinesti Dirge Bard 1 Current Map
Gotcha, Datura. Honestly, I would rather have left it at that. That's pretty much what Seren was hoping to do.
M Silvanesti Elf Wizard (Necromancer) 6/5 Renegade Hunter Int +2 AC 22, touch 22, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 44 (9d6+9) Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7; +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep;
I wonder if I might re-tool his specalization to a Diviner?
