^_^ Imagine if Clarabibulus' Wonderful-cure-all-hurts-and-booboo-elixir causes you to swell up from allergic reaction, and you have a -2 Cha for the rest of the day! >.< (Just picturing Will Smith on Hitch.)

Oh Seren dear, don't be a behind-the-times-fuddy-duddy-stick-in-the-swamp.

A healing potion isn't worth drinking if it's not combined with zesty-and-uplifting-if-still-somewhat-experimental-fizzy-pop! MMMmmmmmm, delicious.

Fizzy lifting drinks!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Here is my Kagonesti Druid (Treesinger), most of the info is in the profile.

...and this is his pet carnivorous flower, lovingly referred to as Awd. Info is also in the profile (and I must admit, I REALLY love the idea of a pet plant).

Looks ok to me Datura. Just a suggestion though, maybe raise your wisdom to 16 as it is your main casting stat. Besides Kagnosti get a +2 racial bonus to wisdom so you should take advantage of that.

That is a very good picture for a Kagonesti.

>_> A plant companion. Yes. We needed one of those.

I know I skimped on his Wis, but being one of the MAD classes, I decided I wouldn't try to focus so much on his offensive casting. He will add the points at the level up points (4, 8, 12) which will allow him to still be able to cast the spells he has access to at those levels. He will also mostly be using buffs and cures, so no big need to pump up his Save DC's.

Are we about ready to begin?

I think we are still waiting for a fighter, and for the rogue to be created?

Yea the rogue isn't created yet and we don't have the fighter type I was looking for. We could play without the fighter type, but then I'ed have to remove a McGuffin from the game as its something only a fighter type is proficient with and the module assumes you have when calculating some encounters.

I was under the impression that the rogue had been made.

You could always just change the form the McGuffin takes. If it's armor change the type, if it's a weapon change which kind. Minor change really.

Is this game already full? I would like to submit Drake Steelwind, a LG Human Paladin of Kiri-Jolith and Solamnic Knight aspirant looking to eventually become a Knight of the Rose. His personal life goal is to see Palanthas liberated and a wholly reunited Kingdom of Solamnia under the banner of goodness. I am very well versed in the world of Dragonlance and the lore of Krynn.

Gambit would be a great addition to the game, DM.

Bam! exactly what we need, welcome aboard.

Hooray!

As an idle question, where will we be beginning in Khur? From the concentration of elves, we could begin in Khurinost. xD

I think that these modules begin in Pashin.

Nice! Sim sim Paladin, Johnny! :p

There are FAR too many elves in this game, how about a little diversity people! :P

Is this a xenophobic KOS?

Lol, no Shalafi, that wasn't my character speaking, he harbors no ill will towards other (non-evil) races. That was just me joking about the lack of racial diversity. ;)

SOOO, Remy is xenophobic? How did the move go?

LOL, how am I being xenophobic when I want more races in the party?! Bring on the dwarves and kender (in addition to elves), although another human would be nice. :P

It went well, thanks.

Here is the basic profile for my character, I will get the rest filled out soon.

Est Sularus oth Mithas

Great to hear! Did you ever get the PM I sent you?

I did, and I pretty much agreed with what you said.

This should be fun, and it seems like we have a lot of hardcore DL fans with us, I think it will make for a great group.

DM, I'm curious, (note: I'm completely happy with my character and not asking to change it) would you have allowed characters to take levels in any of the actual PrC's from the DL books? Another Knight of Solamnia character idea I have is for a Clerist, going Fighter 1/Cleric of Kiri-Jolith 7, then taking the Knight of the Sword prestige class from Knightly Orders of Ansalon, with the Clerist substitution levels. I was just curious if that would have been possible if I had decided to go that route (and thats what the party had needed).

I believe he said that the prestige classes were severely underpowered when it came to converting them to Pathfinder. Of course, this was with regards to the Wizard of High Sorcery, so... That may be different.

I do like the benefits that the WOHS PRC afforded.
Would the same hold true, DM for the war wizard PRC from the Age of Mortals?

Unfortunately the Prestige Classes are underpowered in Pathfinder. However I will put it to a vote. Do you want Dragonlance Prestiege Classes available in the game? If so I will adjust a few rules for the Wizards of High Sorcery, allowing the Wizards of High Sorcery to still get their Arcane Bond, Familiar and Specialization advancements as though they were still taking wizard levels. I might do something similar for the Knight Classes as well.

I would appreciate it! I would also appreciate maybe taking a look at what you might devise for a war wizard?

War Wizard I might allow and apply the same rules as the High Sorcery class (You still advance your Wizard Stuff at the same time). However as it is a different specialization taking levels in War Wizard does not advance your High Sorcery abilities at the same time. Still if you take prestige classes you also lose the Favored Class bonus (As you never get favored class bonuses for taking prestige classes)

Now as for taking the Knight of the Sword class, you have to meet the requirements of the class but you don't need to take levels in Knight of the Crown to get it (But you have to be a Crown Knight first). You can be a member of an organization and hold rank in it without taking the related prestige class. Examples in the book was Henry Crownguard who had levels in fighter/noble and was a Knight of the Rose. In addition Dalamar the Dark has NO levels in Wizards of High Sorcery but but still is the head of the black robes. Taking the prestige classes just provide the class benefits by taking the prestiege class levels. I will allow the Sword Knight class to stack with your Cleric Levels for purposes of your Channeling Power.

Oh I'm well aware of the mechanical difference between the DLCS Knight PrC's and the KOoA Knight PrC's, in that the latter dont require to have levels in one to advance to the next, whereas the former do.

Honestly I usually go for some sort of primary spellcaster character, wizard, cleric, etc, so instead I am going to relish my time with the greatsword this time and stick with the Paladin, who will be striving for Knight of the Rose, in RP only though, not actually taking the Rose Knight PrC. But thank you for answering my question.

In the Towers of High Sorcery sourcebook it stats a young, lower level Dalamar (set during his time as Raistlin's apprentice) who has taken the WoHS PrC. Also in alternate timelines of the Legends of the Twins sourcebook, in which the Age of Mortals never happens and the gods and wizardly magic doesnt disappear, he is statted as Master of the Conclave and has a full 10 levels in WoHS. The only time he doesn't have it was during the pre War of Souls Age of Mortals, where it was impossible for anyone to have.

And I think you mean Derek Crownguard....who you are indeed correct had the title of Rose Knight but didn't have any levels in any of the PrC's, mainly because he was LN and didn't qualify for them since you have to be LG. ;)

Woot for out of game lore discussions. :P

Dalamar was very devoted to the Orders and I believe had all 10 levels at one point. It was Raistlin that only had a few levels in WOHS.

"Welmet folks, I hear you need someone to show you around these parts?"

Semus is an afflicted kender, he was able to survive Malystryx's invasion on Goodlund thanks to he help of many folks, and know he is returning the favor however he can.

I have not picked a Favored enemy for him, I would ask help from the GM for this.

Scarab Sages

Semus would be an archer, with ability to deal with traps, trying to fill the "rogue" role.

Hail and well met Semus. It is good to see you so brazen and bold in your desire to help others. An atrocity was committed to your homeland and it saddens me to hear the tale. I take heart in the fact that you haven't lost the ability to see goodness in the world though, remember the light of good can shine through even the darkest of days my friend.

At the very least it is pleasing to know that the perpetrator of your suffering had justice dealt to him at last...probably the only good thing that Dark Knight girl ever did, and having fought with the Knights of Solamnia at the Battle of Sanction, I got the pleasure of witnessing the great beast Malys's destruction first hand.

While I cant begin to know how it feels to have ones nation completely devastated, my homeland of Solamnia is also going through trying times currently. We are fractured and splintered, and the Knights of Neraka still hold sway in parts. I seek the strength to one day remedy that, reuniting the Kingdom of Solamnia.

May Kiri-Jolith bless our travels.

Due to popular demand I will be allowing PC's to take prestige classes from Dragonlance. This is OPTIONAL however. You do NOT need to take a prestiege class to be a member of an organization. A Knight of Solamnia for instance can take 20 levels of paladin and still be a knight of any rank and order. Just taking the prestige classes gives you access to the additional class features. As for taking the prestiege classes the most recent updates take precedence over the core book. So the Knightly Orders of Ansalon would be the source for the Knight prestige classes, while the Towers of High Sorcery would be the source for the High Sorcerer class.

For the Wizards of High Sorcery class, the Hit Die will be raised to 1d6 as all caster classes have been raised to that in the new edition. In addition the Wizards of High Sorcery count as "Wizard Levels" when calculating the power of your Arcane Bond and Arcane School class features. This also applies to any Sub-Specializations such as the War Mage Prestiege class. However you do not gain any Bonus Feats nor do you get Favored Class bonuses when taking prestiege class levels as those are intrinsically attached to the wizard class.

As for Drake Steelwind remember that Divine Spells for any of the knight prestiege classes are based off the Wisdom, so if you're looking to go that route you might want to rearrange your stats to put some more points into Wisdom. Once again Prestige classes are Optional. As you are a member of the Knight of Solamnia faction your faction rating starts at +3. This can increase in game the more you do to serve the will of your faction. Once you reach a rating of +10 you will gain a benefit from the organization.

I recommend taking the favored enemy that most makes sense for his backstory, Semus.

It looks to me like we've got enough players to get started with the game. I'm putting out a role call to figure out who is still interested in the game. The max number of players I am allowing is 6 and it appears we may have some duplicate roles in terms of the Kender Trapper and the Elf rogue, so whowever responds first will get the Skulldugger position of the party. Other than that it seems we've got all our bases covered. As we're doing a 6 person party I will be adjusting encounters to be harder. Also I will not be a 100% stickler to the actual adventure path and there may be some optional side-quests I will incorporate into the game that are not published in the adventure path.

For the breakdown our players for this adventure will be:

Fighter Type: Drake Steelwind
Wizard Type: Terevalis Unctio
Skulldugger Type: Semus Cloverleaf
Wildcard: Serenatholos
Healing & Skill Support: Datura Oleander And Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz

PS: Favoured Enemy for Semus could be a few things. For someone who came from the Desolation this could be: A. Humanoid (Human), B. Humanoid (Reptillian), C. Dragon, D. Humanoid (goblinoid) or E. Monstrous humanoid.

Has the elven rouge done anything more than express interest?

Also, Seren can function as a buffer/debuffer. His spells are almost entirely that, at the moment.

The first thread in the Gameplay has been posted. Feel free to start posting your actions after reading the introduction

Hey, High God, have you ever thought about making the various factions into Factions like PFS? Where you build prestige and fame with the faction to gain certain benefits? It would work pretty well for the requesting equipment or support from the Knights of Solamnia, etc.
