This game will start May 27.
Please already include your character details in the maps & slides in advance of the start date.
Rosla el Func
|
Hi, everyone!
I will need to update (level up) Rosla and do some shopping, too.
That has to wait until her current game is finished, though.
@GM Nowruz: The link to the slides works and I can edit them, so I entered Rosla's details. However, the link in your post is easy to overlook, and the slides are not yet linked in the campaign header...
Here's a more obvious link for my fellow pathfinders: >>> maps & slides (fill me out! ^_^) <<<

So, an issue has been brought to (more like shoved down) my attention:
No, it is certainly not the GM's prerogative to add a 7th player for a convention game, let alone a MTS. Only the convention organizers can allow that (or choose to allow the GMs to make that decision, as sometimes happens in GM choice tables at G)
For this convention, GMs do not decide who their players are; by choosing to participate in the convention, they accept that they will run a table for the first six people to sign up on Warhorn.
As to the reason, no, it's not related to trying to fill up other tables. Allowing a 7th player for any scenario is supposed to only be in very unusual circumstances. I don't think there are any circumstances that could justify allowing a seventh player at a MTS table. A seventh player is just far too disruptive to pacing and a game running smoothly, and the timed nature of a MTS makes this a very bad idea.
John Woodford is the House GM (overseer in the older language), not a convention organizer, and so cannot 'sign off on' a seventh player.
Frankly, this strikes me as way too controlling for such a "YMMV" type of justification, but if this is the case, I would like to present the question to the rest of you:
I have particular reasons for wishing to play at this Tier (the primary one being that I presently have 3 characters at 13 XP and have for some time now, and I'd like to finally progress one past the 'gridlock'). If we really can't be a 7-member party, does anyone else feel better-situated to move to a different one (as far as I've been made aware, the only option remaining is the 1-2 Tier, maybe 3-4)?
Rosla el Func
|
Well, I could try to step out of my comfort zone and give Discord a chance (at the subtier 3-4 table)...
Let me think about it.
Rosla el Func
|
Okay, I decided to give peace Discord a chance.
Have fun at this table, IHIYC!
Angrboda Fossey
|
That's presumably that then; much obliged.
I am placing my info/tokens on the slide now; please note that our place in the marching order is extremely tentative and entirely negotiable.
Rosla el Func
|
@GM Nowruz: Please remove Rosla from this game. Thanks!
Angrboda Fossey

I don't know if anyone else has a comparably-sized companion of whatever sort, but should the marching-order slide perhaps be expanded in the event of a true need for a single-file line?

When you're ready, use the Gameplay thread to introduce your PC to the party. Please do so in-character.
Please ensure you have an updated stat block associated with your PC and any companions or familiars.
------------------------
Some Basic Rules of Engagement (ROE):
OOC Text: When larger mistakes are made or clarifications are necessary, just let us know in the discussion thread. But you can use ooc text in the gameplay thread if it is directly related to a roll or a specific post.
~
Conditions/Effects: Regarding penalties or bonuses/buffs/debuffs from conditions/effects, please, players, indicate any bonuses/penalties to attacks, damage, etc separately--to remind me as the GM and other players.
For example, [dice=Attack roll, Charge +2, Power Attack -1, Inspire Courage +1, Fatigued -2]d20-1+1-2[/ dice].
Please also separate Attack Rolls from Damage Rolls - so no semicolon and you roll them in the same dice roll.
~
Animal Companion/Mount/Familiar/Eidolon: Please create a separate alias for it, especially if it will act on its own. Also indicate its Perception and Initiative modifier, as well as your own, on the Slides that I have provided.
~
Initiative: Animal Companions/Mounts/Familiars/Eidolons will have their own Initiative results, unless you are mounted or your critter never leaves your body. They can act independently or you can opt to have you and your companion act at the same time on the lower of the two Initiative results. The one with the higher result will be considered delayed, but not flat-footed.
~
Miss Chance: I prefer you to roll miss chances and NOT me as the GM; please use a d100, where a "miss" is less than or equal to the percentage chance.
Lucinus

As I've still got a few updates to make to Lucinus, I'll hold of on doing his skill checks until I've sorted those out if that's ok?
Lucinus
|
No issue. But there’s really nothing wrong with just rolling based on best knowledge now. These rolls are just the warm up. ;-)
In that case I'll roll the checks now as I don't think any of the updates will change my skills bonuses (and if they do they will certainly not reduce them). Are we allowed to volunteer to help with multiple tasks or do we need to just pick one to help out with?
Angrboda Fossey
|
EXTREMELY sorry. In addition to having had an extra-bad week offline, I've been trying for the past 36 hours to use a computer that works better for the slides, but that...Paizo has not been liking at all. I wound up sending E-mails to the VOs AND Paizo Customer Service asking about it.

All of my details should be up to date on the slides.
Looking at Warhorn it looks like we may have lost our 6th player. Would it be worth posting on the Flaxseed Lodge to see if anyone else would be interested in joining?
Jarat
|
Thanks for having me, working on getting all caught up on the slides and such and then I'll try to get posting IC.
EDIT: Am I allowed to do those tasks which have recently passed, or just skip them?
Kiyoko Tamahi
|
Just throwing my Day Job roll out there.
Day Job (Craft: Calligraphy): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Angrboda Fossey
|
Uh, OK.
Day Job: Beachcomber (Survival with Hunting Lodge membership), Faction Pin: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25
If I manage to make it to the end of this adventure without using my folio/DM-Star rerolls, I might wish to use them on this.
Angrboda Fossey

The Concordance really came late, didn't it?
I'm guessing it doesn't matter much, and as you may've noticed Angrboda was previously Grand Lodge anyway, but would there happen to be an 'equivalency'-scheme (a la 'Dark Archive = Cheliax, Shadow Lodge did too, Liberty's Edge = Andoran, etc') for when a Concordance-affiliate is involved with a pre-Concordance adventure?
Jarat
|
Yeah, that really sucked for my character in Eyes of the Ten. I was not stealth/intrigue based at all. Jarat will support whatever the group wants. Obviously he'd like to eventually get to the Liberty's Edge mission, but is not emphatic about it.
Kiyoko Tamahi
|
For the next missions after this one, my thoughts are Grand Lodge and then either Liberty’s Edge or The Exchange. Hopefully, there are no Chronicle boons that require you to have done your specific faction’s mission, though.
Angrboda Fossey
|
Grand Lodge next sounds good; Silver Crusade sounds interesting. I think I'd prefer Liberty's Edge to Exchange.
Lucinus
|
I think Lucinus would be drawn towards the mystery missions like the Silver Crusade one as despite his big sword he is very much a scholar (so he was very please we got to go to the library). But he's happy to go with whichever mission the rest of the party want to do next.
Jarat
|
I think enough of us agree that Grand Lodge is next. After that we'll worry about after that, maybe?
Jarat
|
If possible could we do LE after GL since we have no one of the SilvC faction?
Jarat
|
Eniac is Angrboda's so until that's cleared up you may wish to remove Eniac from the init.
Kiyoko Tamahi
|
Question: did the red and purple operatives switch positions at some point? Kiyoko attacked the purple one and Hamith the red one in the last round, but now Kiyoko is somehow adjacent to the red one and the purple one is farther away.
Kiyoko Tamahi
|
Might want to remove Eniac from the init tracker again.

Scarab Sages special condition:
When the Overseer GM announces that the Scarab Sages objective is fulfilled, the powerful construct Gulgamodh awakens and seeks out invaders to strike down with its arcane cannon. The group gains one free use of the Aid Token’s Allied Offensive benefit (multiply the additional damage dealt by 150%) that the PCs can activate at their discretion.
| GM Nowruz |
ON TOP OF THE ABOVE:
The Tier 7-8 table passed this table a BOOSTED BURST HEALING aid token! That is 5d6 healing for you all.
REMINDER - ALSO SEE SLIDES:
During the event, it is possible for characters at one table to assist those at another with Aid Tokens. Each represents the assistance of allied Pathfinder agents who assist the PCs.
Once per encounter, any character at a table can use an Aid Token to assist the group in one of the ways described in the slides. Once a table uses an Aid Token, they can then passes the Aid Token to a neighboring table for those players to use. A table can only benefit from one Aid Token per encounter. Because there are a limited number of Aid Tokens, hoarding one means that another table doesn’t get to use it.
If a table receives an Aid Token and doesn’t need its benefits, the players are encouraged to boost its potency by expending some of their own resources or attempting a skill check. Boosting an Aid Token, including an attempted skill check, is part of passing that Aid Token to another table. A table cannot retry a skill check, nor can they boost an Aid Token more than once before passing it to another table. A table can boost an Aid Token even while in combat without taking any in-round actions; the scenario assumes the aid was granted before that encounter began. Players should be encouraged to write their PC’s name down next to the boosted effect along with any other relevant information. Using a boosted effect consumes the boost; the player using that benefit should erase the boost information from the Aid Token.

Just to double check, as the Burst of Healing just says it heals PCs for hit points and doesn't specify the type of healing. I assume it would still heal Lucinus even though he is healed by negative energy and harmed by positive energy?

Yes! It’s a positive boost so you’re healed! ;-)
