I'm not talking about another character add-on deck, since that's designed to both increase the character count and increase max players from 4 to 6.
But rather, an add-on deck designed to add more characters and nothing else (bare essentials for new characters - A new character only really needs the character token card, the character card, and the role card, right?). When you die and decide to start with a new character it would be awesome to be able to choose from a wider selection.
I certainly know I'd buy this in a heartbeat

You'll be happy to know that the intention is for all the characters to be playable in the other sets. So when Skull and Shackles comes out this summer, you can take a character from it and play through Rise of the Runelords.
The caveat is that some of characters might not work as well away from the adventure path they were packaged in. So for instance Skull and Shackles will have a Gunslinger who will seemingly have power related to weapons with the firearm trait. Since none of those weapons exist in Skull and Shackles, he probably won't transfer as well. But the Alchemist in Skull and Shackles might transfer better. The "craft" skill has already been included on many cards in RotR and he'll probably have the craft skill.
There was a post about this from Mike at some point. Let me see if I can dig it up.

Thanks for the reply! I've seen that before but I wasn't sure how well they'd integrate and afaik they mentioned there's only 4 new characters, which doesn't seem like a whole lot to expand. My other concern was that pirates and swashbucklers wouldn't really fit thematically into Rise of the Runelords, though to be fair I don't know too much about Pathfinders lore.
That being said, I'm super excited to play it and I know I'll enjoy it thoroughly, I just think that a character variety pack would be absolutely fantastic, especially if they made it with both base games in mind!
