Aid another affects a single attempt at something, regardless of who does it. It is not a permanent effect.
The day job roll is not a single attempt at a skill, but an abstraction of the craft/profession/perform rules to earn money outside of adventuring.
So, no. A fellow party member, familiar, eidolon, animal companion, hired help, pet pig, etc. can not use the Aid Another action to help with a day job roll.

Mike Brock has ruled that Crafter's Fortune is legal for use with Day Jobs, and that only affects one instance.

Hmm. Going through the FAQ it looks like only Eidolons are restricted. A Familiar would be considered a "permanent effect".
Except for imps. Everyone knows your imp would much rather spend his/her/its time playing a practical joke on you than assist you with some boring crafting or profession stuff! >:-D

Skill boosts from the Familiar (like a Pig for Diplomacy + Caravan) would count as they are indeed a permanent effect. But the Aid Another has been explicitly mentioned before as not possible for a day job check.
Again, we have covered this before, but Day Jobs are NOT a skill check. It's a different kind of check that uses your modifier in a skill*. Aid Another only works on skill checks, AC and attack rolls. Actually, you can't Aid Another (By RAW, anyway) on ability checks. For example, you can't Aid Another on initiative (ability check), bashing open a door with a Strength check (ability check) or saves (not a skill, AC or attack roll)**.
Aid Another
You can help someone achieve success on a skill check by making the same kind of skill check in a cooperative effort. If you roll a 10 or higher on your check, the character you're helping gets a +2 bonus on his or her check. (You can't take 10 on a skill check to aid another.) In many cases, a character's help won't be beneficial, or only a limited number of characters can help at once.
*Disclaimer 1: current only exception to the rule is crafter's fortune
** Disclaimer 2: I'm aware that Order of the Dragon cavalier's ability implies that you CAN aid on saves, but it is the only place ever mentioned, making me (and others) believe it's a typo.talbanus |

On a more serious note, this is probably how I'd rule it. Familiars are (in all case, as far as I know), living, breathing creatures, not just tools for their master's to use for however long they want to.

For Gozreh's sake, I hope this isn't a veiled reference to familiar abuse!

"My kitty ates and other stuff all the time. It likes to ate behind my house. It ates grass, and bugs, and mouses, and people foods, and sometimes garbage. But anyway, he's really clean and likes music, but mom said he can't help me when I give speeches anymore. Not after what happened last time. Anyway, want to pet him? He's nice and fluffy!"
As he finishes saying this, he reaches into his haversack and pulls out a skunk that he offers to you.
