We have a big fight going on in way of the wicked campaign. we have have two vials of stone salve that one of our members was carrying. My druid was not petrified by the gorgimera. All other party members were petrified including the person carrying the stone salve. In the spell description, the person and all their gear turn to to stone. Does the stone salve that cures petrification also turn to stone or does it immediately activate and cure the person? Or does everything but the salve turn to stone? As a druid who turn into an earth elemental I'm going to have fun with this either way, but we really need a good answer on this one.

It turns to stone*. It certainly does not auto-activate*.
As for the druid turning into an earth elemental, unless I'm missing a rule somewhere, that doesn't protect you from petrification.
* rule 0 notwithstanding
No, i successfully saved not to be turned to stone. In regards to the stone salve though. [example] If a disease comes into contact with the cure for the disease... the disease will be cured. Why wouldn't stone salve which is the cure for flesh to stone immediately activate and cancel the petrification?

Why on earth do you assume this? If I'm carrying around a scroll of remove disease, now I'm immune to disease?

Because it's a salve and it needs to be used to work its magic, in the same way that you need to read a scroll to activate the spell within, or burn incense, or drink a potion, or light a lantern, or look into a mirror, or whatever.
The salve is technically a use-activated magic item. To activate it, you use it.
