Archivist (Bard Archetype) "Naturalist" ability question.

Is the Archivist able to make separate Knowledge checks against different types of opponents, and then allow his or her Naturalist ability work for the party against all the creatures the Knowledge checks pass against?

However, I'm not sure it's right. Most people I ask seem to think that it's "one type only," but some say that since a Knowledge check is a free action, it can work on multiple things if the Bard knows what they are.

Yeah me too. As it is a replacement for the generic 'Inspire Courage' that always works for everything I would really prefer that Naturalist not have the restriction that it can work against only one enemy type at a time.

There is lost of ambiguity regarding the effect of the performance on multiple identified creature types. Can the bard effect all identified foes or must he choose a single.

Different threads provide different answers please provide some corrections.
