So, say I have a summoned monster with DR X/Good; and then I have a character ability that gives my summoned creatures DR Y/Adamantine.
I read something that makes me think I've been misunderstanding how DR Worked, so here I am asking.
Does that mean the summoned creature has DRX/Good, and once its been bypassed the remaining damage has DRY/Adamantine (Like I thought) or does it mean the creature has DRX+Y/Good or Adamantine (Like I've just been told) or DRX+Y/Good & Adamantine or the much crappier DR XorY/Good or Adamantine or DR XorY/Good & Adamantine?

You take the better of the two DRs against any attacks that bypass neither. So if you have DR 5/Good, and DR 10/Adamantine (like from Stoneskin), then you have DR 10/Adamantine. Once you get hit with an Adamantine weapon, your DR 5/Good would be the next to protect you.
If someone hit you with a Good-aligned Adamantine weapon, you're screwed.

You take the greatest damage reduction that isn't being bypassed as use that. For example:
Creature has dr10/magic and dr5/good.
He gets hit by a stick -- 10 DR
Hit by magic stick -- 5 dr
Hit by a good magic stick 0 dr.
In theory a good non-magic stick would have dr 10, but MOST situations will have the stick be magical.

If a creature has damage reduction from more than one source, the two forms of damage reduction do not stack. Instead, the creature gets the benefit of the best damage reduction in a given situation.
