I couldn't find a thread about the Know Direction Kickstarter that launched last night. So here ya'll go! Let's pickup some steam and turn out more stretch goals! I love tuning into these guys every week. I'm stoked they continue to put out quality content.

Know Direction Podcast Kickstarter

Are you a loyal listener like myself?
What is your favorite episode(s)?
Where do you listen to Know Direction?
What are other questions you can think of? Ryan and Parem are so much better at this then me

Shadow Lodge

My confession: I listen to Know Direction the most when I'm cleaning house or doing dishes. It actually makes these tasks enjoyable. Sometimes I save the podcasts til it's time to do some major house cleaning and remodeling.

Great podcast! Thanks for letting us know about this.

So happy to see it got funded in the first 24 hours!

Can't wait to get to the Mark Moreland phase...

Very cool! I listen to Know Direction all the time (I like to listen while I'm doing graphic design / layout work)

Congrats!

I might need to take a better look at the kick starter in case I overlooked, but what does the money above goal go towards?

More specifically, just the bonus goals, or an even better, more awesome podcast?

Dark Archive

It goes to more/better podcasting equipment.

More and better grade equipment. The first goal was really the bare minimum 'This is what we need to keep going.' It covers things like replacement mixers, new microphones, updating the recording computer to bring it out of the stone age. (It was running windows XP... which is what it came with!) Professional editing software as well.

We've been paying for the podcast mostly out of our own pockets and coming up with creative solutions to tech issues, but our last GenCon showed us that our equipment really didn't stand up to what was needed.

We're hoping as the funds continue to gather that we'll be able to get a pair of good HD video cameras for Con coverage, and better remote recording equipment for similar purpose, and if things go even better our whole team of volunteers can be equipped as well!

And of course some of the money raised after the first stretch goal will go towards the cost of producing and improving the adventure reward, art, etc...

I also forgot to mention that some (not a lot, though) of the cost will go towards rebuilding the site, as well. It really needs it, and getting some art, templates, extensions, stock images, etc... will cost us a bit.

Liberty's Edge

And we're really happy at how quickly and well you've all helped us out with this project! It drives me to make sure we produce the best show we can.

Thanks for the detailed explanation Perram.

I'm a fan. I'm backing this! I appreciate all the work you have put I to your podcasts, and I definitely want to have them continue!

Ryan and Perram have given me hours of enjoyment. Now's my opportunity to throw some money at them!

I only regret that I don't have any products that I need promoted. I love those hilarious Chimera Games commercials.

Liberty's Edge

I'm a fan of the interviews they do with industry people most of all. They're interesting, informative and usually nice and lengthy.

Really great stuff!
