Just a fun little thought experiment I had, I've delved through my music library in an attempt to find the songs that I feel best represent Golarion's big 20 deities! Listening to tone and taking lyrics into account, here's my list.
Abadar: Let Legend Mark Me As the King, by Christoper Lee (it's only a clip, but I can't find the whole song, and the snippet at least captures the feel that made me link the song to Abadar)
Asmodeus: March of Mephisto, by Kamelot
Calistria: In the Middle of the Night, by Within Temptation
Cayden Cailean: Bring Us More Beer, by The Poxy Boggards
Desna: Starfall, by Dragonland
Erastil: Fire at Midnight, by Jethro Tull
Gorum: Indestructible, by Disturbed
Gozreh: Touch the Sky, by Julie Fowlis
Iomedae: Cry Thunder, by DragonForce
Irori: I'll Make a Man Out of You, performed by Donny Osmond.
Lamashtu: Dance With the Demon, by Majesty
Nethys: Mystery, by Dio
Norgorber: Blind Leading the Blind, by Axenstar
Pharasma: Serenade, by Kamelot
Rovagug: Into the Fire, by Sabaton
Sarenrae: Millenium Sun, by Angra
Shelyn: What Kind of Love, by Avantasia
Torag: Lord of the Blacksmiths, by Falconer
Urgathoa: The Scythe, by Elvenking
Zon-Kuthon: This Pain, by Kamelot
Well, whadaya think? Feel free to post your own picks too, so we can create an awesome playlist or something! :)

Besmara: You Are A Pirate by Alestorm.
I curse you to a thousand years of rowing !!!
Now I will have to show this thread to my GM and he will have us listen to it AGAIN !!! On youtube nonetheless. And we play this afternoon :-/

Gorum would suit Thraft of Canaan by High On Fire.
The music suits and the lyrics are spot on:
"Forged of blackened steel, wields the iron hand
Voices loud as thunder, pillaging the land"
For Irori, I would probably go for something blissed out and lyric-free: Sigur Ros

Kajehase |

Milani: Thea Gilmore - Heads Will Roll. Alternatively (cause she's GOOD), done by any number of artists, but I'll go for the Aretha Franklin version - A Change is Gonna Come
Shelyn: Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman - Elephant Love Medley
Desna: The Wiener Philharmonic Orchestra - An der schönen blaue Donau or The Star Trek theme song
Mammon: ABBA - Money money money
Not a deity per se, but Baba Yaga's already got her own theme song.

darkwarriorkarg |
Callistria: Masochism Tango (yes, it dates from the 50's!)
Zon-Kuthon: Cuts you up or a certain song by Rhianna (whose title is very a propos)

Fabius Maximus |

Asmodeus: Master of Puppets is very suitable here.
Cayden Cailean: John Hartford - In Heaven, There Is No Beer
Pharasma: Opeth - The Funeral Portrait
Zon-Kuthon: The Vision Bleak - A Shadow Arose

In my own campaign I have used music as a quick tag for divine powers (keep in mind that I don't use Golarion's cosmology in my home game). Celestial powers are assigned an instrumental piece (usually, but not always a Classical one), while Profane ones are given lyric'd songs (usually, but again not always Metal or classic rock). Find it fun to see what other people do with this sort of thing.

Iomedae - Stairway to Heaven (Led Zeppelin)
Pharasma - Dust in the Wind (Kansas)
Razmiran - Sounds of Silence (Simon & Garfunkel)
Cayden Cailean - I Drink Alone (George Thorogood)
Aroden - Nowhere Man (The Beatles)

Asmodeus: Sympathy For The Devil (personally I prefer Guns'n'Roses version than Rolling Stones) and Van Canto - Seller Of Souls.
Calistra: Sisters Of Mercy - Temple Of Love.
Desna: Dream Theater - Lifting Shadows Off A Dream.
Milani: Sabaton - Uprising
Pharasma: Blue Oyster Club - Don't Fear The Reaper
Urgathoa: Pretty Reckless - Make Me Wanna Die.
Zon-Kuthon: Sisters Of Mercy - Cry Little Sister.

Hmmm...this makes me wonder how Shelyn feels about the Pina Colada song?

![]() |

A few more.
The Arabic vibe of Sarenrae leads me to Rabih Abou-Khalil's Arabian Waltz.
I think Shelyn would appreciate incurable romanticism like Jets to Brazil's Sweet Avenue.
For Calistria's mixture of erotocism and revenge we might try some Marilyn Manson covers: Sweet Dreams and I Put A Spell On You.
Almost anything by Igorr will do for Zon-Kuthon.
And I just remembered Thunder In The Night Forever would also be great for Gorum. "We Ride To Fight!"

Some other suggestions, es:p. based on lyrics
Calistria- Livin' La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin
Zon-Kuthon- Paint It Black by the Rolling Stones or While My Guitar Gently Weeps by the Beatles
Shelyn- Somebody to Love by Queen
Desna- Age of Aquarius from Hair
Cayden Cailean- Beast of Burden by the Rolling Stones
Besmara- Seven Deadly Sins by Flogging Molly
Apparently the bulk of my pantheon enjoys classic rock...

For some reason when I listened to this song by era I could not help but think of Sarenrae or her worshipers.

Drejk |

Abdar (or maybe Mammon): Republika - Mamona
First World Eldest: Lake Of Tears - Lady Rosenred.
Gozreh: Van Canto - Water, Fire, Heaven, Earth
Nethys: Cranius - Big Blue Dress :P
Old Ones: Celldweller - Blackstar
Shellyn: Scarlet - Independent Love Song.

Ridge |

Cayden Cailean - Tubthumping (I get knocked down)
Desna - The Rainbow Connection
Erastil - Mossy Oak Song (Pass it on)
Iomedae- Beer for my horses
Sarenrae- You're only Human (Second Wind)
Shelyn- Tonight I celebrate my love
Torag - Brothers of Metal
I realize the last might also fit Gorum, but the more I think about it, Brothers of Metal seems to have a theme of unity I'd expect more from a LG deity

FlySkyHigh |

Bookmarking the s~%& out of this page. If only for personal use later :P Tempted to make it into a giant playlist...
Also, for my own addition Cayden: Johnny Jump Up - Gaelic Storm
Alestorm was a good choice for Besmara, but I think The Dark Lady would be a good choice. This version has a bit of a frilly intro, but the song itself I think is pretty potent.
Gorum: March of Cambreadth

Cayden Cailean- Beer, beer -Korpiklaani
Iomadae- Gott Mit Uns -Sabaton
Desna -Tähdet Varjelkoon (finnish for Stars Shelter Me) -Viikate and Little Dreamer -Ensiferum
Milani- Stand up and Fight -Turisas
Torag- Strike -Korpiklaani
Mammon- Kuningas Mammona (King Mammonas) -Kotiteollisuus
Asmodeus- Pandemonium -Kotiteollisuus (Killing Joke cover)
Gozreh- Ahti -Ensiferum
Abadar- Pictures at Exhibiton- The Great Gate at Kiev -Mussorgsky
Zon-Kuthon- Head like a Hole -Nine Inch Nails
Rovagug- Painkiller -Judas Priest
Shelyn and Zon-Kuthon- Beauty and the Beast -Nightwish
That's from top of my head. This is fun!

Thinking about Asmodeus: I'm Your God Now by Machinehead would work.
It's a song about addiction from the drug's point-of-view.
"With time you will confide in me
So lonely my friend, I've made you lose control
You'll use me more and more with time
Our friendship grows with each mainline
So glad that you could be so blind
So glad that you could be so blind"

Nocticula - The Lotus Eaters by Dead Can Dance (recommended by James Jacobs in his Ask thread awhile back).
Theres also a more 'hardcore' cover.
Metal cover of the Spirit Temple theme from the Zelda video game series.
Desna - By far my favorite Pathfinder deity, I have quite a few songs in mind that make me think of her.
There are several versions of the Great Fairy's Fountain from the Zelda video game series.
Here is a traditional sounding one.
Try the music box version for a more ephemeral feeling.
And of course the vocal version is nice, too. I just discovered that one myself - Haha, I love it! Can you tell I really dig this tune? :P
I'd also recommend Only Hope by Mandy Moore.
The Theme from The Day The Earth Stood Still for something highlighting her somewhat creepy other-worldliness (also recommend by James Jacobs).
Moonlight Butterfly/Dark Sun Gwyndolin theme from the Dark Souls OST.
Pharasma - Requiem Aeternam from Le Roi Seleil. So sad, but beautiful. :'(
Zon-Kuthon - Summoning of the Muse by Dead Can Dance.
Sarenrae - Desert Rose by Sting.
Song of Healing from the Zelda series, again.
Lamashtu, the Worldwound, and demons in general - Sha theme from World of Warcraft.
The Eldest of the First World - Forest Temple theme from Zelda.
And the guitar cover.
Aaaaaand thats all I've got at the moment!

Milani - Free Bird
Ragathiel - Bat Out of Hell
Asmodeus - Sympathy for the Devil
Agreeing with others above:
Aroden - Nowhere Man (The Beatles)
Callistria - Masochism Tango (Tom Lehrer)
Cayden Cailean - In Heaven, There Is No Beer (John Hartford)
Gorum - Iron Man (Black Sabbath)
Pharasma - Don't Fear The Reaper (Blue Oyster Cult)

Drejk |

Ragathiel - Bat Out of Hell
Good one. Tried to think of something for even-winged one but couldn't get anything.
Pharasma - Don't Fear The Reaper (Blue Oyster Cult)
Uh... What did I wrote? *facepalm* How did I... Ah, posting at 5 in the morning... *hangs his head in shame*

Cayden Cailean - I Drink Alone (George Thorogood)
I like this one, although I think "One bourbon, One scotch, One beer" Would be the better Thorogood for Caydan

Doomed Hero |

Asmodeus: You're gonna go far kid by Offspring
Zon-Kuthon: After the Flesh by My Life With The Thrill Kill Cult
Ragathiel: Ashes to Ashes by Damage Plan
Pharasma: Tourniquet by Rasputina
The Old Ones: The Beginning is the End is the Beginning by Smashing Pumpkins

![]() |

After The Flesh is a great call.
Just thinking about Milani and Blackbird by the Beatles seems to fit.

Cayden Cailean - I Drink Alone (George Thorogood)
Agreed - I thought of that myself, after I posted my list. Cayden Cailean is more the 'party animal' type then the 'lonely alcoholic' type.
Running with the Devil (Van Halen) could work for Asmodeus, or just about any fiend-worshipping cult.
Arazni - Magic Man (by Heart)
Abadar - Money (Pink Floyd)
Calistria - One way, or another (by Blondie)
Groetus - Eve of Destruction (Barry MacGuire)

Pharasma Sweetness Follows by R.E.M.
"Readying to bury your father and your mother,
What did you think when you lost another?
I used to wonder why did you bother,
Distanced from one, blind to the other?
Listen here my sister and my brother
What would you care if you lost the other?
I always wonder why did we bother,
Distanced from one, deaf to the other.
Oh, oh, but sweetness follows"

![]() |

Maybe a bit too easy, but
Asmodeus: Devil's Dance
Gorum: Thunderhorse
Besmara: You Are a Pirate (Alestorm cover) (Well, any Alestrom song, really).
Milani: I Was A Teenage Anarchist

Lots of interesting choices in this thread! I really like "Sol Invictus" and "Desert Rose" both for Sarenrae, "Blackbird" for Milani, "Requiem Aeternam" for Pharasma, "Sympathy For The Devil" for Asmodeus, and "Mossy Oak Song" for Erastil. Just thought I'd throw my own suggestions out there, particularly Shelyn, since hers leapt to mind immediately and no one had mentioned it yet.
Shelyn: "The Rose" - I'm partial to Leann Rimes' version, though Bette Midler made it famous.
that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
that leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger,
an endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
and you its only seed.
Pharasma: "Oh Death" - Jen Titus
Nothing satisfies me but your soul
(...)
Well I am death, none can excel
I'll open the door to heaven or hell.
Erastil: "Calling My Children Home" - traditional, my favorite version is Chris Webster or Emmylou Harris.
To guard and guide, along life's way.
Oh God forbid, that one should perish
That one alas should go astray.
(...)
I'm lonesome for my precious children,
They live so far away.
Oh may they hear my calling... calling...
And come back home someday.
