Interest Check For Gestalt Mythic Game

Recruitment

So I'm definitely looking to see another gestalt game to start recruiting on the boards, but this time including mythic rules. :) Anyone up for such a nigh impossible task? ;)

Up for playing but definitely not running.

A few APs down the line in my home game, I intend to run a table of the Mythic AP where at start the players can opt for being mythic or Gestalt.

Pretty much no chance of me running it pbp any time soon.

:p well, what good are ya then, ya overgrown chicken? Lol

I have too many APs to chew through yet. We're not even halfway through Serpent Skull yet. Then I have Rise of the Runelords to run.

Lol I'm just messing with ya. I know someone will pick it up. It's good to be busy.

Dark Archive

Asking someone to run a Gestalt Mythic game is a pretty big favor to ask. The adjustments needed to create a challenge for characters of this type would be a monumental task.

Yeah. The enemies would literally be the size of the Washington Monument, AT LEAST.

I'm in one now, currently run by MonkeyGod, but it is on hold pending the release of the official mythic rules supplement

Well, they have been officially released now, so....:p

And yeah, it would be quite epic!

"I'm a sorcerer/rogue going into Champion/Archmage". Powergamer's dream, this is.

In my mind it'd be "no multi-classing" sort of gestalt, so in your example, your sorcerer/rogue could champion or archmage but not both.

Well what's the point then ShadowyFox! :p

Lol it's a good concept! Besides, do you really want to deal with a ninja/oracle / paladin/sorcerer hierophant/arcmage? That's not gestalt; that's crazy! :p

The only way I could see a gestalt/mythic campaign working is one or two players taking on the six-player conversion of an adventure path. The work to make a challenging adventure for a standard sized party of such powered-up characters would be ridiculous, if even possible.

I don't really see any pre-made stuff working for such characters without huge amounts of modification. It would take a savvy GM to be able to properly gauge the power level and make appropriate challenges.

The thing about a Gestalt Mythic campaign is that you'd also see Gestalt Mythic enemies. In a gestalt world, it is generally commonplace for most heroic-level NPCs (rather than NPC-class NPCs) to also be gestalt.

So the enemies will also be alot more dangerous.

Yes, and given how much trouble it would be to stack mythic on top of gestalt, I cannot really see anyone willing to do it. I still wish Herolab had a gestalt option. That would certainly be nice.

Yeah I wouldn't touch Gestalt Mythic with a 10 ft pole. I'm sticking with plain ol' Mythic, as thats insane enough for me.

It's do-able. Just takes a DM with enough experience to handle it.

@ Red Ravage: That's actually a really smart idea.

@ stormrave: nI agree on that part.

i'd play (but not DM).

Me too. I don't get why they won't. Apparently you can, but you have to do it yourself. Unfortunately, I'm not a computer genius. You have to be able to go in and change code up or something like that.

Yes, actually you can do it. You just need to write up a class for every single gestalt combination that interests you. The program comes with editors such that you can make your own class. It's just quite tedious. You don't need to screw with code at least though.

Ah, I see. Gotcha. Yeah that is way too tedious.
