I played Bonekeep level 1 at GenCon and contracted the Red Ache. It states:
Bonekeep Malady: You suffer from a lingering malady after your exploration of Bonekeep. While any diseases you contrcted there (below) seem to have faded upon leaving the dungeon, you still seem to suffer from sporadic coughing fits and fevers. You take a -2 penalty on any Fortitude save against disease.
When I played Bonekeep 2, the GM told me the penalty only applies while in Bonekeep. However, the text seems to imply otherwise.
Clarification?
Also, does this need to be removed with prestige? I also gained the boon Personal Physician, and was wondering if this would remove it if I pay the costs.

N.B.: This explanation is to the best of my knowledge, but someone might have better knowledge. It is also spoilery:
The -2 cannot be removed by mundane or magical means.
If you acquire immunity to all diseases (such as taking 3 levels of paladin or purchasing a periapt of health), the point becomes moot, because you no longer have to make saves against diseases. This includes when you re-enter Bonekeep at any time in the future, meaning that you are immune to any further ability damage caused by diseases acquired before you achieved immunity. This final point was confirmed to me by Jason Bulmahn himself.

Does the malady affect only those who actually caught one of the three listed diseases, or does it affect everyone who enters those areas of Bonekeep? My character went through the first level of Bonekeep, but she did not contract any of the diseases. The wording makes it hard to determine which it would be.
