Is there a way to get a +8 Ability modifier?

My understanding is that +7 is the highest currently possible, but I heard a rumor that there was a published adventure somewhere that had a story element that could potentially push it further.

As far as I know, +7 is the current cap.

I can only guess that at some point Paizo will release mythical levels, which could drastically increase the progressione ( with normal progression, fights against lvl 21+ enemies would be anything but balanced ).

At least one AP lets you get to +7.5...so still +7, but it sets a precedent for stat bonuses as a narrative reward.

Some of the early APs have NPCs of standard Ancestries w/ +8 and such, which suggests PCs could have that too. Paizo has stated those were errors made to justify the math & stats (essentially to make the NPCs viable w/o too much wealth). Since PF2 doesn't require such underlying math, yep, an error, a holdover from PF1 methodology. They've said they'd watch out for that, and AFAIK have, yet I wish that'd extend to monsters, so no hulking beasts more dexterous than Legolas (even if those skills and saves remain the same).

An animal companion can get +9 Dex =^)
