Speaking of Reaper Bones Kickstarters...

I note that it is a dwarf riding a bear. Too bad you can't get a Large Bear companion/pally mount etc in Pathfinder.

The bear faced conspiracy continues.

Sovereign Court

There's no improved mount / leadership cohort equivalent feat in pathfinder?

There is always just using handle animal on a normal bear.

Well 7th Level Cavalier Beast-rider also can have a bear mount. But this looks like it'll be a nice expansion.

Soon Mr Bones II will be unlocked. :D

Hot damn. I just snuck in on early bird shipping.

Yeah I definitely think getting the word out about this kickstarter is a good thing, purely because of how huge the pathfinder audience is and how many are signed up to the PFS schedule.

Not just for Reaper but more for the bones miniatures themselves, last time nobody really knew what they would be like but now allowing reaper to expand their line with so many cheap miniatures gives a whole new slew of options to new roleplayers.

Me, I have been able to convince brand new players and rp'ers to get mini's of their own for games, they love how a simple soak in simple green can strip all the paint from them, how poseable they are and that they can buy 4-5 of one model with various weapon loadouts or visual distinctions for the cost of a single metal miniature from the past that I could never get anyone to buy.

The actual range itself is really good for the hobby imo, the three biggest things to happen for mini gaming in the last two yeas for me have been paizo pawns, reaper bones and dwarven forge game tiles and having an affordable entry point to 3D dungeon gaming or gaming with mini's makes the first foray that much more accessible to outside folks.

Anyway regardless of what you guys decide, I love the mentality of both paizo and reaper... You do a great job overall and I am glad to be a supporter of the hobby.

I once had a halfling character spend all his gold on a scroll of Awaken, and had my dog that I had bought at character creation awakened, and at the same time I took the Leadership Feat and my GM allowed my to declare my Awakened Dog to be my cohort. I somehow do not think that such a thing is PFS legal though.

Not so much. ;p

Sovereign Court

:) I think leadership is a no go for PFS.

Been a cracking day so far as far as pledging goes. Looking forward to seeing the next reveal sometime tomorrow.

I... I... I would probably shell out money for that.

I am the opposite I love those mounted figs! I think you can never have too many townfolk/guards either. Now expansion set one is lacking big time. I like the mushroom men and thats about it. I wonder if they will let you add on piecemeal at the end if you don't want the whole shebang.

Nope, the expansion sets won't be broken up into separate pieces. You'll have to wait until they hit retail if you want specifics within those sets.

Is it that you only like the mushroom men and consider the others to be bad choices for sculpts?

Or is that you only consider the mushroom men something that you would require for your game?

Personally I can see why the expansion is made the way it is while I only want about a third of the figures.

Maybe my colors are off, but is the Expansion #3 Red for anyone? It's purple for me.

Not necessarily bad sculpts, just ones I don't like or need. I love the mushroom men.

I really wish it was an add on. They would make a ton of money if it was an add on. While the terrain stuff is neat I doubt expansion 3 will be worth it for me.

Sovereign Court

Paint Set #2, and the Numenera minis are now funding.

Another stretch goal revealed - a bunch of angels will be added to expansion #2, including some angels of sorrow, which look a lot like those evil angels from Blink - Doctor Who.

Yeah, they're really putting some quality stuff in for the Doctor Who fans (I'm not one of them, but good on them).
I really like the Deva, though (and have already pledged for the Expansion based on the first reveal)!

Exactly! So far expansion 2 is 2 for 2! It's getting close to having me whip out the wallet :)

I see this stuff as things that I will be able to get after the kickstarter in the store. I want some of the terrain stuff but not enough to toss $50 at it....

I also see that they added angels to the cavalry/troops set. I was hoping for more along that same line, not angels. The Angels make that set unattractive to me. May pick up the Numereria stuff though.

2" bases will be added to the Core set (and should be available for $8 for more sets of 20 - although Reaperbryan had to check on the price).
And some eldritch horror not-mindflayer monsters added to the modern/sci-fi Expansion set.

The Big bad bathalians. All nice large sized eldritchy horrors.

And some mindflayer / sci fi alien / cthuhlu monsters with extra arms:

Yes! I managed to sneak into the october shipments. I started out with the core set but before I realised that I could pick and choose from the core supply. I don't know if it's just me but I feel that the quality of the bones sculpts are abit lower than those in metal so I'm not interested in using them for PC characters, but for monsters they're great!

I'm really excited to be able to pick and choose and be in the second wave of shipments.

Core set has many monsters. Combine that with the bases for the less than sturdy minis and I finally threw down on the core set. I have Dec shipping though. I have barely started Bones I, so no biggie.

Sovereign Court

If you keep an eye on the ks you might be able to snag an earlier slot. There is a bit of movement during the day.

I have compared a couple of minis and bones side by side. have not been able to see any real detail difference.

Boom another stretch goal down!

Next up is a horrific giant rot grub demon!

But there's More to come!

We've still got more coming for the Core Set!

More Options!

More things to fill out the Expansions!

But we need your help to achieve these new goals!

It's been a while since I looked at legacy of fire, could that worm be a good stand in for Xotani or another spawn of rovagug?

It might be useful in Age of Worms too (haven't studied the AP, though).

GentleGiant wrote:

It would useful in the later stages of the Age of Worms AP. Sadly after running my wife and a few friends through that years ago I cannot even bring up any kind of worm monster before she starts giving me the 'you're 5 seconds from sleeping on the couch!' look. I think that campaign broke my players in ways I cannot imagine. :)

Should also work as one of these:

Oh it is gonna be very useful for AoW. Now I don't have to consider shelling out $60 a pop for the Otherworld purple worm mini. Near as I can figure you can get 4 of those big worms at a time near the end.

Yes, I've picked most of those I want. I will probably snag a few of the others when they hit retail. When I did a calc over how many of the miniatures I actually wanted I came to the conclusion that it would be better to pick and choose. Greed kind of took overhand on the last kickstarter. I have quite a few Bones that I don't really know what to do with :)

Vy-Dann wrote:

I haven't done a side to side comparison with every miniature I have duplicaates of, it's mostly from memory. But I checked the bones version of Nienna against the metal version, and the details on the metal one is better. I'm not saying that the bones are bad, just that most don't inspire me to to much time into a paintjob. I think they're great for monsters.

Why no Ogres?

None in the first launch either.

So, we are now at a point where the distance between reveals is so long that the momentum appears to be slowing. The math has been done, and this is already a bigger mass of minis than last time. If their is ANYONE that any of you know who might be interested, tell them about it and have them take a look.

Are you in? If not, I can relay the wish for Ogres in the comments section. The Reaper guys are in there all the time and they are listening & responding to suggestions.

Sadly they have only hinted at the tarrasque. It looks like it might hold the Cthulhu slot for this KS.

Yeap, think they got me for expansion 2 those are some cool minis.

Expansion 2 is getting beefed up with some shadow / translucent minis.

You assertment is not backed up by data. As the data clearly shows, yesterday (46.7K) was ~.1 standard deviations (18K) from the mean (48.9K) and less from the median (47.6K) excluding the first 2 days. The day before was about the same above the mean and median. They were basically as close to average as random variation will allow.

The slowing down of stretch goals has more to do with them increasing the distance between strech goals to account for previous strech goals scaling into affecting more people.

Latest update included some photos of the demon worm mini: pics

I definitely want that one!

The shadow creatures definitely cemented my pledge of Expansion set #2 - well, I had already pledged for it, it just confirmed that it was a good pledge. :-)
And Mashaaf! It's one of those sculpts which I might not have found a use for, but it's just begging to have it's own adventure built around it.
Someone over on the Reaper boards suggested something along the lines of a kobold tribe worshipping it and keeping it fed at the bottom of their cave system... but fed with what? ;-)
