Hello! This is probably a strange question, but here it goes:
I'm currently in a group playing the Age of Worms AP and we are now on the Lizardfolks lair. We've just beaten the big guy with the Trident and I was searching around the Internet for some campaign diaries to see how other groups are playing this adventure and I accidentaly read something about an egg loaded with worms inside the lizardfolks lair. The thing is, the lizard that had asked us to kill their leader didn't say anything about eggs. We saved Marzena so we probably don't have anything else to do here. But I don't want to leave an egg filled with worms behind us, that may be bad for us in the future.
I know I might be accused of megagame thinking and that kind of thing, but I just want to make sure we don't mess things up in the future by overlooking something or by some mistake of the DM (it's his first time DM'ing and mistakes happen).
So, what can I do to solve this?
Thanks

Honestly, the best thing for you to do is probably to talk to your DM. Admit you accidentally read something on the internet about it, apologize, promise you won't go looking for more Age of Worms stuff on the internet that might spoil the game... and then ask if there's something your group missed that it's not too late to do something about.
Alternately, if you haven't finished in the lair yet, wait and see what happens. Trust your DM to put it in your path if he wants to, or to leave it out if he decided not to include it. And if you do run across something, by all means, keep quiet and follow the lead of the other players on how to deal with it, rather than acting on knowledge you shouldn't have.
And either way - stop reading online stuff about Age of Worms! (grin)

Yes, I know that this is not a good thing and I thank you for your advices. We're still on the lair, we just defeated the guy with the trident.
We divided the AP in seven parts and each one of our group will be the DM of one part, so the current DM might not know of the future consequences of this (I don't know it too, in case you're wondering, but I suspect leaving the egg behind won't be good). I was thinking of asking the party to explore a bit more to make sure everything is safe before we leave, but if it is hidden somewhere it will be hard to find it, though.
Once again, I thank you for the advices :)

seven parts? different DM with each part? well then there won't be ANY secrets. age of worms is perhaps the biggest secret heavy AP I've seen. everything is a secret and almost every adventure reveals a little bit more.
I can't imagine as a DM going through an adventure path without knowing everything there is to know even several session later. some of the modules reveal everything about the end-game and if that dm returns to a player after DMing that module it will be ruined for him.
I STRONGLY suggest keeping one DM through the whole thing. or at least just now switching to someone who wants to run the whole thing.

I undestand your fears and if you check another topic I started about the same thing, we know that some secrets might be revealed ahead of time for the player when he DMs, but that's a risk we're willing to take, as this adventure is more of an experience to see if we can handle such a long commitment to a story and to give DMing experience to everyone in our group. Until this time there were 2 guys that had never been the Dungeon Master and now they're starting to know how to handle a story on a non-PC point of view.
That's actually the case in this part, our DM is new at this and it might have been a mistake of his, or maybe not, I don't know, the only thing I know is that no one told us anything about any egg and I'm afraid that if we leave it behind it might come and bite us in our behinds later, so if you have any advice on how to direct the group to that place and solve that thing it would be great.
Once again, note that I don't want to know more of the adventure, it was an accident and I'm not interested on knowing more than anyone in the group or to get ahead in anyway, I just want to have fun playing this.

if it makes you feel any better the group I DMed never touched the egg either. Let things run their course. of course the egg doesn't have to be there, the DM has full power to change anything he wants. there are some major secrets though that the next DM will be utterly confused about and will need to go back a few modules to find out what is really going on.
eventually you will all know and it will be more of a fight to not use player knowledge in the game than it will be fighting surprise monsters.

We played today and we handled the situation really well, I'm just glad this thing is behind us now. I took Cintra Bristol's advice and waited to see what would come next, we ended up just going there because the lizardfolk druid asked us to.
Is it possible just to delete this thread? I'm done with searching for this AP on the web, this accident was more than enough and just seeing this here makes me feel bad. I think I'll just avoid this and other messageboards altogether anyway, I just want to play and have fun, it's been really great so far.
Thanks guys :)

although you may never see this again I will still say things. maybe you could come back later but if you come back sooner...
You implied that sometime you would be taking the reigns as DM. this forum and others like it is perfect for asking questions from a DM point of view as some things will need more explaining.
and I do not think it is possible to delete entire threads however if left alone long enough they could go deep into the pits of threads. but since not many post here regularly that may take a while. I have seen this go several weeks without a single update.

Oh, I value every opinion and advice posted here by everyone, don't get me wrong, but I just don't want to see it here because it's the memory of a thing I really regretted and if someone from my group comes here they might think that I wanted to get ahead of the group or I was cheating in any way, which is really not the case.
I'll be DMing later on, when that time arrives I'll probably come here to ask for advice and insight on how to give a good adventuring experience to our group. Until then, I'm just staying away from anything related to the Age of Worms campaign ;)
So, once again, I thank you all for your help, if any of the Mods could just delete this or just put it away in some dark, hidden shelf it would be awesome.
