A friend convinced me to give PFS a try this weekend at a local con, and when I go to sign up for games there are a few that tell me everything except what level I need to be in order to play at the table. Examples:
#4-EX: Day of the Demon (Pathfinder Society - Pathfinder RPG)
By Larry Wilhelm. The Blakros family, long an ally of the Pathfinder Society, has come into possession of a manor house in the imperial nation of Cheliax, where a once prominent noble family was known to practice diabolism before the Age of Lost Omens. The Pathfinders' task is simple: clear the abandoned manor of any remaining threats before the Blakroses move in. Unfortunately, the estate hasn't sat empty as long as the Blakroses think it has, and its recent inhabitants were anything but the devil-worshipers who originally built the manor. "Day of the Demon" is an exclusive adventure to be run only by 4-star Pathfinder Society GMs, Venture-Captain and Venture-Lieutenant campaign volunteers, and Paizo staff for its first year.
#3-09: The Quest for Perfection—Part I: The Edge of Heaven (Pathfinder Society - Pathfinder RPG)
By Jerall Toi. In the distant land of Tian Xia, the Pathfinder Society's Lantern Lodge sends a team of agents high into the mountains of the Wall of Heaven to an abandoned Iroran monastery in search of a powerful relic to assist them in ensure victory in the upcoming Ruby Phoenix Tournament. Though the monastery has long laid unused by the faithful of the Master of Masters, it is not completely devoid of danger, and the PCs soon discover that merely retrieving the ancient artifact is but the beginning of a much larger quest. The Edge of Heaven is the first scenario in the three-part The Quest for Perfection campaign arc. It is followed by Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-11: The Quest for Perfection—Part II: On Hostile Waters and Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-13: The Quest for Perfection—Part III: Defenders of Nesting Swallow. All three chapters are intended to be played in order.
I don't want to sign up for these games and then not be able to play in them because I'm not the right level. What can I do to find out?

The con should have included the level ranges for the scenarios in the descriptions...sadly that appears to be missing.
Day of the Demon is a tier 3-7 scenario, so you need to play this with a character (or pregen) that is at least 3rd and no more than 7th level. Since this is your first time playing, you'd have to use a pregen to play this scenario.
The Quest for Perfection arc is a tier 1-5 trio of scenarios. You could create your own 1st level character, and play through this entire arc and end up 2nd level at the end of it (assuming no casualties).
In general, you can go to the Pathfinder Society Organized Play link to the left of the screen, and look for "Products" and it has the list of scenarios broken down by season (i.e. season 4 for Day of the Demon and season 3 for QFP). In the listing it will also give you the tier of the scenario.
Hope you have a good time this weekend.
EDIT: Are you going to InConJunction? I ask, because I know both of these are being offered there this weekend...and I'll be there running some of the other tables. If so, I know Chris Bonnet is planning on having a computer set up with HeroLab to help make new characters, and update existing ones.

Preemtive note: These are scenarios, not modules. Modules are other Paizo products that are far more expansive in size. But whatever; to the helpful thoughts!
One easy way to determine the level is by searching the product on the paizo website and looking at the description.
A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 3–7.

Written by Larry Wilhelm.
This scenario is designed for play in Pathfinder Society Organized Play, but can easily be adapted for use with any world. This scenario is compliant with the Open Game License (OGL) and is suitable for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.
Bolding mine.
Alternatively, a selection of pregens are available at all tiers (until you get to the 12-and-higher levels), so you theoretically don't need to make sure you have a character ready in the beginning. It's good to build one after getting a pregen credit, and if this is the order in which you're going to play, it works out pretty well since the second one is a 1-5 and you'll have a scenario's-worth of gold and PA under your belt.

I am going to InConjunction. I've been a couple times before, so it should be a good time.
I won't need help making a character, but I appreciate the heads up about the computer. Will they have these Chronicle sheets I've read about available? I don't actually have a printer and will be using my tablet for the character sheet.
I call them modules because that's what they were called when I played 4e LFR; I don't really know all of the lingo yet. Quest for perfection sounds fun, I think I'll sign up for all of those. Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate the help.

Each GM should give you your Chronicle sheet for the scenario after it is over. I do believe Chris also has some boon Chronicles as part of the con support Paizo has provided him. I'm not sure what all he has, or how the distribution is going to be handled though.
See you there!

Here's the link to the Additional Resources page, which shows exactly which parts of each book are legal for PFS. Most stuff is legal, but there are some specific things here and there that aren't.

You would need to check against the Additional Resources page to determine legality.
Also, please note, you are supposed to have the actual product that the additional rule comes from as well in order to use it on your character. If you're just dipping your toes into the water, so to speak, you may want to try and see what you can come up with in the Core Assumptions (Core Rulebook and Pathfinder Society Field Guide).

GMs are not required to have a copy of the book and they are not guaranteed to have internet access, so the Guide to Organized play asks that you provide a copy of the book or a print from it if any rules questions arise. While many GMs will not bother to ask for it or have their own copies of the book, a GM is within their rights to deny you the use of the item if you cannot show them the rules for how it works that come from a Paizo book or document.

I have not seen a judge deny someone the use of something that someone at the table had a copy of, just because the player in question didn't have a copy with him. I have heard people SAY they would, but most of those were on the board.
Mostly people are kind of understanding. "yeah, I have a hardback of ISWG, which has Infernal Healing in it. I'll bring it next time if you need me too, but for now, can we just use Jo's copy?... wow, I totally missed the fact that you can't cure damage caused by silver with Infernal Healing!"
