@RHMG Animator, from the link you provided: "You'll pick from a selection of bodies, heads, and hair." That'll probably satisfy me :)

Hopefully they provide enough options of each category.

I suspect at Early Enrollment we'll be very limited as to options for characters. It is one of those systems that can be iterated on forever, but that only needs the most basic features to be implemented before we can begin play.

Goblin Squad Member

I figured the options would be limited at the start, and getting the more critical systems up is a higher priority.

3 body types per race/10 heads/10 hairs/color palettes?

Deal?

If there are enough varieties of clothing/armor options that could work as a starting point. I'll just hope we are successful enough with it to afford ongoing development complimented with the ability to further customize existing characters from their nascent basis. If that isn't redundant again, repeatedly over again.

With an increasing number of players, it'll require an increasing amount of options to allow player avatars to be unique.

I'm wonder what will be the earliest we'll see a character generator demo?

I'm hoping it's a bit greater than that.

When it comes to wishes you don't have to settle. I think we've made it pretty clear that greater diversity is better. If there is a realistic way to deliver such I'm sure they will try. But the big thing is to make a solid beginning and build from there.

Goblin Squad Member

I'm hoping that the beginning has just enough customisation options that the Early Enrollers will be unique enough and happy with what is presented.

So customization diversity will just keep pace with the growth in subs, right?

Goblin Squad Member

I'm hoping that it will be just keeping pace with the growth in subs at a minimum.

I'm currently wondering when Alpha players get to play and if they would be kind enough to provide a few screenshots of the Character Creation system.

Given that we're currently looking at about 15 months to EE, I would think about 9-12 months to Alpha.

If we are allowed to, I'm sure Decius and I will post lots and lots of info :)

Goblin Squad Member

Given there being PFO demos at PaizoCon, I was expecting Alpha to be open by December.

I hope you are able to post lots of Information,
I'll analyze it and give feedback on it.

I'd give more feedback if I was an Alpha tester, but I didn't have that level of cash to go that high.
I've broken down games before in Game Dev for other groups' Game Projects and I was through in breaking down the good and the bad.
Heck the teacher was impressed at how far I broken down; the good, the bad, the interface and why.

Edit: fixed an error.

I don't remember seeing Demos at GenCon, but I think they had them at PaizoCon. I'll also be posting lots of info/pics if we are allowed once Alpha opens. :)

We're a long way from Alpha. Maybe a year.

Goblin Squad Member

A year would be good, IMO.

A meal well cooked is enhanced by the waiting. Everyone at the table engaged in good conversation, and the aromas drifting in to the merry gathering only enhance the revelation and glory of the cook bringing in the entrée for carving. Everyone passing around the side-dishes and cautioning one another which dish is hot... I am hungry, yes, but I also value you who are with me at this particular table.

Goblin Squad Member

True, a well cooked meals the best.
But I'm hoping that Goblin Works has a number of big breaks that speed up it's development.

Appetisers, you mean...mmmm.

Well, I hope he wasn't intending TV Dinners.

Goblin Squad Member

I pray it does not become a TV dinner, especially if it has freezer burn.
