So we're gearing up to play Serpent's Skull. I was originally going to roll with an Order of the Cockatrice cavalier...and then our divine caster dropped and no one wants to step up.
My question is, how out of place in the game would a Juju oracle be in the party? It's one of two that catch my interest, the other being spellscar. Let's just say I played wild mage once and my party would prefer I take another route. I've never played the AP, and neither has anyone in the group, so we aren't sure if it would be completely out of place. I know a shipwreck is involved, so my thought is that he's a stowaway who is sneaking back home.
Thoughts?
Wouldn't really be too out of place.
The JuJu flavor actually might fit in very well if you were to say he's a native to the Mwangi Expanse, since they're very tribal and such.

As mentioned already, a JuJu Oracle will be at home in this AP. It's not "ALL JUJU! YAY!", as while there are a number of parts where there may be little or nothing related to it at all, there are also many parts that have tremendous potential for a JuJu themed character.
In fact, book 3 has a bonus article on pages 66-71 called "The Path of JuJu" where it fleshes out details regarding JuJu Culture, Worship, Wendifa, Magic, Fetishes, the "zombies", and more.
If I were your GM (I'm not, sorry) I would make a copy of those pages as a handout for you pregame. It's a good read, and while it's inclusion was probably for the use of GMs to increase the flavour of the jungle journeys in this AP, it can also be great for such character development as may be in your case. Perhaps your GM might be so kind as to share the article with you? It's worth asking "hey, I heard there is an artice with some JuJu lore somewhere in this AP. Is there anything in it I could use for my Oracle?" or something like that. Even just having your GM read it and talk to you about it could be a huge bonus for you.

Seriously though, there is some GREAT potential for a JuJU Oracle in this AP.
