Silver Crusade

Yeah, I thought I remembered a thread where somebody mentioned it, so I searched oracle and sorcerer threads until I found it. The thread doesn't say which sorcerer bloodline either.

I like the idea of the undead bloodline, because PFS most certainly likes throwing skeletons and ghouls at you. Now I just need to decide if 1 additional 1st level spell known and spell slot as an oracle is worth a 2 level dip over a 1 level dip.

Scarab Sages

I glanced through the bloodlines, and didn't spot anything that was really great for illusion based casters. Maybe Raksasha, which increases the spell craft difficulty to identify spells you cast. But that's not really that great in society. Undead is good for the reason mentioned.

Arcane, again, for the metamagic focus and raising DCs.

Fey, maybe, but that's really more compulsion focused.

Silver Crusade

Meh, the more I think about it, the more I just want to go straight arcane caster, because I had a really good idea for my healer that required life oracle.

Maybe I can just make a gnome sorcerer that focuses on illusion spells. Or a gnome illusionist wizard. If I go wizard at least Tony won't say I'm copying off of him, lol.

Thankfully, I probably won't have to play this character any time soon, so I've got lots of time to decide.

Speaking of time, I need to finish levelling my inquisitor up for tomorrow night.

My 25 dc colorspray that lowers your effective level 9, gnome that you need to save 3 times is arcane with a dip in heavens dual cursed oracle.

Now utility is great for a sorcerer. You can save or suck their will, reflex, and fort.

In the end of the day unless you are crazy about maxmize it by dipping. If you wanna blast occassionally that is cool. Magic missile is greta for finishing things off. The problem is many other classes will outdamage you if they spend as much or more effort than you. Plus they do it without the fear of running out of spells, they have better ACs and HP too.

Now my advice is how to get the most out of the class. I can not tell you what you would have fun playing. But I feel when you play something that is getting trumped at what you want to do by others everytime, it is less fun. Now you can bypass all the damage silliness and just one spell finish bad guys. Colorspray for example.

Save or suck spells include color spray, create pit, aqueous orb, grease, hold person, command, and so on. The builds that use these rely on people to fail their saves. So you want to do everything to raise to make the DCs unable to be passed. Generally conjuration and enchantment have the most spells in this group.

Kitsune can be very powerful enchanters. Their DCs get to be crazy high and their favored class even raises the DC.

If you wanna play a human with utility and focus on SoS spells you can kick ass with that. You give up a touch of the power of the DCs the other races would have, but get an extra feat and some extra spells.

The extra spells are not that huge though. They are 1 level lower then what you can cast. So you do not get another 1st level spell until you are level 4. Nice, but not great. In all honesty I think the HPs are better. Because when you are level 7 and start getting 2nd level spells those extra 1st & 0 level spells are much less usefull. So spells you many never use or perm 6 hp?

Played a Human Sorcerer to a fair level (12th) and the extra spells tended to be utility spells (fly, invisibility, haste, etc.) to supplement the outrageous blaster he was. The BIG edge a sorcerer has is they can usually cover most if not all of the party with their utility spells, even if they re single person only. No wizard can do this, so in my opinion well designed sorcerer contributes more to their party.
