My friend successfully pledged/paid for the $500 Crowdforger Guild level during the Kickstarter. I do not have a pledge. He has granted me "buddy" status using the Piazo.com website. I would like to be able to play with him during early enrollment - it appears from reading the Kickstarter pledge site that he should have 6 early entry accounts.

Do I need to / am I able to pledge at a Crowdforger Pioneer level (for example) to be able to play with him at the start of PFO?

Is there a way on the Paizo (or Goblinworks) website that can confirm this access status being granted?

Does shieldmate status only occur once the game has started?

Lastly, as part of a guild/buddy status, how do I purchase Add-Ons for my characters?

First, these are not official answers. I think I've got 'em right, and hopefully there will be an official correction if I get something wrong.

You don't need to pledge at all. His Crowdforger Guild pledge will cover your PFO Account and your access to Early Enrollment.

Go to "My Account", then click the "View or Claim Kickstarter Pledges" in the "My Pledge Drives" section - should be about 4 down on the right. Near the bottom of that page, it should say something like "You are buddies with one person" and list the person who invited you.

I don't know if that qualifies as a guarantee that you'll get that PFO Account and Early Enrollment access, but that's what I see on my wife's account and I invited her with my Crowdforger Buddy pledge.

Basically, yes. It's one of the things that will be attached to a PFO Account (not a Paizo Account) so until they start handing out PFO Accounts, there's no point in worrying about it.

There will be a way sometime later to assign Shieldmates.

I think there are two answers to this.

1. If you didn't pledge in the Kickstarter, you can't really buy Add-Ons right now. You could ask your buddy to buy them and he can assign them to you later.

2. There will probably be a way for you to buy most (if not all) of those Add-Ons yourself later.

Welcome to this forum Iatronas! I am in the same boat as you are and, thankfully, we have guys like Nihimon around that can find answers to most questions. He is famous for it. Thanks, Nihimon. :)

I was/am a little confused as well. I joined guildmates in a pledge and I received a Buddy invite from the person who actually pledged our money. I accepted and have recieved my pdf downloads so I assume all is well.

I thought each person involved in the pledge was going to be able to designate a buddy that would receive something in addition to assigning a Sheildmate.

Also, I wish they would have assigned each account a pledge number. As it is, I can't manage my pledge because only the one person has access to the system.

The actual pledger is the person with the access. You won't have any kickstarter account access because your name is not the actual pledger's name. You can't have an account for PFO yet because there are no accounts.

That is my understanding of things, at least. I could be wrong or leaving out details....
