When you get the ranger hippogriff rider archetype, and you get a magical beast as your animal companion, do you use magical beast BAB, saves, skills, HD size etc, and just use the chart as an example for how many HD to get per level and other abilities? Or do you use the 'animal' numbers?

Like all companions, you use the companion statblock and add per level adjustments. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/magical-beasts/hippogriff

Greetings, fellow traveller.
As posted above you use the stats given for the Hippogriff Companion - forget the Bestiary entry.
For advancement you follow this table.

I realize what stats you you, that's not my question. What i'm asking is do you use the stats for animals, or magical beast? Animals get d8s, and priest BAB, and certain skills, etc. And magical beasts get d10s, with fighter BAB, etc. I know you use those stats and that chart, but do you use the animal stats (as in d8s, cleric bab, etc) or the ones for magical beast (which a hippogriff is)

Oh it answers it. the question was based on the fact that BAB, HD size and saves are based on creature type in the bestiary. and magical beasts have a different value for those things than animals, and a hippogriff is a magical beast. hence my question.
