I ran my first session today of the campaign and have come across a question the process of influencing the crew.
Is the limit on how many steps you can move someone with a check different than the Diplomacy skill from the core book?
In other words if a PC rolls well enough can they get someone from Indifferent to Helpful with one roll?
Thanks

No, there are no extra limits on their diplomacy. Your average party this isn't going to be a problem. The group I ran for all started out with some social skills (a suggestion by myself that I was kicking myself for later), and the party got all but four of the crew on their side by the end--and that few only because I took out a few of the days with no events.
If you have a large group of diplomatic characters, you might want to houserule a 1 shift per check (which isn't unreasonable on a long-term scale like this).

Keep in mind, that certain crew members are Plugg and Scourge's toadies; Fipps Chumlett and the welcoming committee on the second day, in particular.
Use Plugg and Scourge's Diplomacy and Intimidate skills undo positive effects on these crew. Assume they hang out together in the evening during Rum Rations, and receive reinforcement as to their role on the ship, and their future careers.

Thanks for the input and ideas.
I have already started making it understood that a number of the crew are happy with how things are and see the PC's as trouble.
I don't think the PC's will even make the attempt to sway them, but you never know.
I'm considering removing some of the non-event days as well but haven't decided for sure yet.
