Thassilonian

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Is there any chance that the guys at Paizo will create some kind of simplified primer for the Thassilonian language? It would be pretty cool for my cyphermage (soon to be eldrich knight) to be able to name his sword in Thassilonian.

We didn't actually make up a full language for Thassilonian. We make cool worlds and neat games, but linguists we are not.

I'd say just make something up and call it a Thassilonian word. No one will be able to call you on it. :)

Silver Crusade

The original campaign setting has the most material written down on the old Thassilonian tongue. Beyond its connections to the Varisian and Shoanti languages, it's also the first of Golarion's human languages to have a third gender.

That's all I can recall offhand without the book in front of me.

Use Latin, Phoenician or Ancient Greek. The runes that there is artwork for are "Runes of Power" or somesuch.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I think James Jacobs once said that it sounded like a combination of Japanese and Latin. Maybe Ancient Greek, too, can't remember.

If you need a conlanger to invent a language for the setting, you know who to call... *whistles nonchalantly*
