Hi, in next campaign I'm going to play a level 4 witch. His background is about a girl of 10-12 years, living with a troupe of travelling performers.
With the troupe she works as a dancer/fortune teller, but of course..a girl of 10-12 years, although 20 in intelligence, no one is going to take her seriously, so I'm looking for some kind of disguise/transformation for looking like the adult version of the character.
Options:
- Disguise hex: 1 hour/level is a good thing..but mimic disguise self:
"The spell [...] nor does it alter the perceived tactile (touch) or audible (sound) properties of you or your equipment. "
It seems I need 'vocal alteration' (1 min/level) which is unacceptable (having a reunion with a customer is simply imposible), also a simple touch and
- Alter self spell: 1 min/level, same as vocal alteration...
What's the best form to accomplish that?
Sources: All ok, even 3.5 material.
And feel free to correct my english if I did a big mistake. Thanks.

I'd suggest a magical tattoo that gives you Threefold Aspect, but if my math is right, that's 40,000 market value :(
Good thing they have a whole circus and friends and connections as part of a backstory! This is why I suggested a lesser version. Cut out the enhance bonuses and the crone form and you have a much weaker spell.

Is there any reason that the Disguise skill won't do just this? You could put 4 skill points into it, perhaps pick up a trait to make it a class skill, get the Skill Focus feat for really selling it, take a CHA of 14 or so if desired, and then put on a Circlet of Persuasion to top it off.
Your "disguise" will fool most of the world and will not even be penetrable by True Seeing.

thanks for the advice...at first some kind of lesser threefold aspect seems the best option for me, then I found it:

Why not make a version for adult? level 1 spell, 1 hour/level, seems ok for me.
About disguise skill alone, I can't imagine how can I grow 30 cm with it, I know it's in the rules but...

My daughter is 49" tall at age 7. My grandmother was 56" tall at age 80.
I don't see a reason for applying a -10 penalty at all for size unless you are adding a lot more than what might be needed. Adult humans can be shorter than average. Circus performers range in size from very short to very tall and often star at the extremes.
A human girl of 12 years old can be really close to full grown height anyways. You definitely don't need to add 30cm to height. A pair of nice 5cm shoes should do lovely.
Now age, yes, that penalty would definitely be needed.
That still can allow for a nice Disguise skill and quite convincing to most of the world.

While some adults are that short, when you're a kid trying to pass for adult, the shortness just calls attention to you. Makes it harder.
Some of those short adults get mistaken for children.
What might be an interesting ploy would be trying to pass for an adult halfling?

If you are talking twelve, then that's about when I believe alot of girls start getting growth spurts. You will have them around five feet. An above average height twelve year old could be within a few inches of adult height. Its the OTHER features of adulthood that might be off, from voice, to body structure et al. Also ... Depending on how the particular world works - if you are going on a semi medieval model, what is considered "adult" is probably not an 18 or 21 year old like you might think of in modern times, but instead ...
Look at the starting ages for races/classes. Adult for a human is listed as ... 15. Someone could be out there considered an adult starting adventurer from age sixteen. Range for a fighter, bard, paladin etc is 16 to 21 starting. Pulled the chart from the old d20 srd rather than pathfinder, but the assumptions should be much the same. In oth words, just to reach the category "adult" she needs to look 16-18 ... Not in her twenties.
