I'm trying to stat out cities for a campaign setting I'm building for my home game and I need some help with something.
I want to make a dirt poor part of a city, so I need to describe income levels.
Long story short: In a Golarion like setting (follwing strict WBL etc) what is the typical annual income of a commoner (farmers, unskilled laborers, etc)? I need that as a benchmark for setting everyone else's wealth.

Or you can go to the bottom of this page - which gives you rules of thumb for living costs for Pcs.
For dirt cheap - give them an income of 3gp a month.
Alternately, if you look under Skill:Craft (or profession) it says .. (Untrained laborers and assistants earn an average of 1 silver piece per day.)
The problem in setting incomes in PF, is complicated by the rest of the section on incomes from the Skills:Craft (profession) description which says ....
"You (a PC) can practice your trade and make a decent living, earning half your check result in gold pieces per week of dedicated work."
If you apply that to commoners etc (with a base skill of 4) they are going to earn 7gp a week.
*Shrug* You can't balance it as an economy within the RAW.
I work with a few assumptions :-
All L1 commoners are adolescents with no saleable skills and earn about 1 sp / day
Most commoners are L2/3 with a limited skills - and earn a bit more than that - probably between 10-20 gp a month. In my cities commoners don't spend a feat on Skill Specialisation.
Experts and warriors DO spend a feat on skill specialisation and earn more ...
After that (as Facebook says about relationships) Its complicated ....
I have a broad analysis that I work too, if you are interested. However, if I include all of it, it is pages and pages long
