Given the future will be about the hundred trillion dollars to be extracted from the sale of energy, I think it will be two zones of habitation - the labourer onsite zone and the ultra wealthy haven. So unless you have it all - you can expect to live as a servant in the haven or as an onsite labourer in energy production regions. The third area will be the refugee camp (where exploitable unskilled labour subsists by parasiting off those around them).

Just kidding. As far as your bleak vision, I greatly doubt it'll come to pass in the lifetime of anyone reading here today. Even if by some divine mystery, one (or more) readers are immortal.
If I had a dime for every bleak future vision elucidated online, I wouldn't have to worry about the continued solvency of Social Security.

The benefit of my bleak future is that it finances social security increases only if it is owned and controlled by a benevolent state.

A corporate boot stamping on a human face forever, with nature dead and the spirit of mankind leaving as well. Seriously, if I actually thought doing so could affect positive change, I'd burn down Wall Street and K Street in a heartbeat. And I think we should've brought back the guillotine for those schmucks who @#$%#ed the economy. And while I'm ranting, @#$% the economists, those heartless @#$%s who got us into this mess in the first place (Except for the neo/post/whatever Keynseyans. They're cool with me).
