I had an idea for a making 2 handed weapons that are larger then medium sized have reach but no threat beyond the persons normal threatening reach. So here is a chart showing what I mean. What I mean by no additional threat is the creature would still have to be with in your normal threat range of the base creature but you could attack them from the reach of weapon. It doesn't make sense if someone can wield a huge great sword and not be able to hit things farther away, that's just stupid and makes no sense.
You would also add these increased ranges to weapons that have reach as it is increasing the range at which you could hit someone with that weapon.
Example
Large great sword 10ft reach no additional threat
Huge great sword 15ft reach no additional threat
Gargantuan great sword 20ft reach no additional threat
Colossal great sword 30ft reach no additional threat
Tell me what you guys think

Follow the rules for a standard creature using its appropriately sized weapon (i.e. Colossal using a colossal weapon) and then apply it to the weapon. And instead of the colossal weapon using all twenty-five square feet of it's colossal wielder's space as it's origin point, use the medium creature's single square as it's point of origin.

Collossal Tall has 30 feet of reach wintersrage, not 20.
What Tessara is saying, is that a medium creature lacks the bulk to really fill up the field and cover area that a larger one does, even with reach that matches a larger creature.
Using medium vs large, for example, the large character controls one more 'ring' of squares than does the medium, because his reach is a 'ring' around a 4-square space, as opposed to a single square one.
