Special materials - metals and woods

Rules Questions

Shadow Lodge

Can some weapons benefit from more then one special material?

Was wondering if some polearms could benefit from say mithril or adamantine and darkwood, etc.

I don't believe so. generally weapons are treated as a whole object not as parts (blade and haft)
I think it's the properties of the business end that dictates the whole.
So a mithril lucerne hammer is going to have mithril properties. The darkwood shaft isn't going to matter much. You don't price the parts separately really either.
Granted there is nothing stopping you from doing so if you like.
But it seems like a rare corner case where it would even matter.

The thing is making the handle out of darkwood would not make the metal blade on the end any lighter and how much lighter do you make it and what is the proper cost based on the different handle length to blade length gets complicated.

I was thinking more whipwood then darkwood, my mistake.
