Alternative to Swift Spell

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I'm running a 9th level cleric. I'll soon have a new feat open. The swift spell thing looks amazing, but:

- it eats up a slot 4 LEVELS HIGHER than the spell's normal slot - that's huge; is there any similar feat/tactic/whatever that will reduce spell time not at the cost of 4 LEVELS HIGHER (e.g., it's a move action or 1/2 action or whatever they're called)
- my cleric, like many classes, has built-in spell like abilities. Is there any way to swift spell them?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

The Exchange

It should be out of your reach based on cost, a rod of quicken can do it 3/day

In 3.5 there were feats that 1/day allowed you to use meta magic for free - yeah they were super good maybe even broken.

Bestiary p315 has a feat called Quicken Spell-like ability.

Casting spells quickly is very powerful and Quicken reflects that. It may not be that useful to you at level 9, but it's a solid choice for a full caster. As an alternative, if you've got the cash, you can buy a Metamagic Rod of Quicken or a consumable Quickening Diamond. I do not think there is any other way to reduce cast time (though I could be wrong).

If your GM allows monster feats for PCs, you may shortly be eligible for Quicken Spell-Like Ability.

Spell perfection i believe but its not available till 15 level

Scarab Sages

You can buy a Lesser Metamagic Rod of Quicken Spell. As long as you hold the rod in your hand you can cast up to 3 spells per day of level 3 or lower as swift actions. For more money you can buy normal and greater versions that will allow you to use it with spells up to 6th level or 9th level respectively.
