Hey all
I've been wondering why there's no item that permanently gives higher movement other than boots of springing and striding... So I tried to do some math:
Boots of springing and striding cost 5500.
2500 of that is +5 acrobatic... Leaving 3000.
Combining 2 effects add 50% of o the cheapest part, so the boots really cost 2500 (acrobatics) + 2000 * 1.5 (speed)
My thinking now is that +10 speed cost the same as +1 weapon... Why not upgrade that?
+10 speed = 2000 gp, +20 speed = 8000, + 30 = 18000 etc up to + 50 speed at 50k gold...
Is this broken? Would you use it in your game (no pfs, I know)? Is my math even right?

Speed is a very powerful thing, especially if you have significant long-range attack capability. This is I suspect the reason why you'll notice that there are very few spells that give long-lasting improved movement speed beyond +10'. It's also one of the reasons why, IMO, the travel domain is so good.
My general advice insofar as new magic items is when in doubt, don't. It's been an expensive lesson for me but you can have it for free.

I think your basic line of thought is solid.
Keep in mind when considering balance/power of item:
What EWHM noted above both about the Travel domain and spell boosts in general.
Haste grants a +30 enhancement bonus to movement while in effect (but no more than double base movement).
9 levels of Monk grants +30, another 9 levels to level 18 gets a monk +60
These bonuses are considered Enhancement bonuses to the Monk's base speed.
A barbarian's class feature grants +10 which stacks with other bonuses to the barbarians land speed.
Fleet:
You are faster than most.
Benefit: While you are wearing light or no armor, your base speed increases by 5 feet. You lose the benefits of this feat if you carry a medium or heavy load.
Special: You can take this feat multiple times. The effects stack.
And at least in 3.5 -> the Epic Feat Epic Speed increased your speed by +30 (and had prerequisites of Dex 21+ and Run) and like Fleet above could be had multiple times with the effect stacking.
Just about all these increases have conditions related to armor worn and/or encumbrance, including Epic Speed.
I'd be real, real careful with putting together anything which allowed a pre Epic/Mythic character to boost his speed to greater than around 90 or so given that it takes an 18 levels of Monk to add 60 to a typical base of 30 and would likewise tend to effectively cap it around +30 for characters less than 12th level or so.
The other thing to be wary of is adding speed bonuses that are not Enhancement bonuses. The non-stacking nature of many of those sources due to the same type bonus is an intentional safeguard within the game mechanics. Bend and break such things at ones own peril.

Should ofcause have specified the bonus to speed as an enhancement bonus...
This will make the item close to useless to monks, and hugely usefull to everybody else...
Also the bonus to speed is land speed only.
In which case you've packaged up and sold off one of the coolest things about the monk. Their insane land speed. If I were playing a monk and these suddenly became avalible I'd be a little pissy.

Being a house ruled item it should ofc never appear in the middle of a campaign... and if it's presented as possible b4 start everybody would know...

What th'?
I introduce unique custom magic items in my campaigns all the time, at any point in the campaign. My players think that's one of the coolest things about my campaigns. They love getting unique items that they have to figure out how to use because they aren't in a book anywhere.
I can't even wrap my brain around this thought...
