GM Therenger |

Please hold your actions for Round 3 until after I post for the bad guys in the morning.

GM Therenger |

Your cover faces north, and they're all on rhe level above you shooting down. You're only getting cover from the people inside the cantina.

H0N33P0T |

I had something in mind, but I wasn't sure how it'd work out. Combine the resin and the nails, create rudimentary caltrops to hinder some of our enemies?

GM Therenger |

You're not limited to what I provided. There are various technological items as well, enough to fashion a crude grenade. Apologies for not giving you that earlier. A demolitions roll and a round would suffice. The quality of the grenade would be determined by your roll. But then you still have to throw it...

Rel Arden |

I don't know that we have enough fidelity to cover to know that - maybe we need to get it called out when the cover is taken and reminded?
Dodge thing is just being painful.

GM Therenger |

Couldn't find any item where it says reactions end at end of the round...
but anyways, if thats the ruling, thats fine. Makes full round dodge/parry/etc. not all that useful if our side loses initiative.
The shadow box on Reaction skills on page 79 of REUP: The reaction skill roll is in effect for the rest of the round and replaces the original difficulty number.
Agree with your second statement to a point: if the enemy were taking more than one action in a round it would make a lot of difference, but in this fight against common riff-raff, you are correct.

H0N33P0T |

Of course, there's only so much that she can accomplish with the vague amount of material she had to work with from a street-stall. It terrifies me to consider what it'd look like with access to higher materials.
...Maybe I should start investing in Demolitions when we can level things...

That's probably fair. In this case, all the cover on both sides is tipped-over tables. I think it stands to reason those provide cover against only one facing. The game includes rules for destroying cover. You haven't tried that yet and I haven't been rolling the miss chance to hit cover because it seemed like an awful lot of rules for the first full-blown encounter. But we can certainly do that.

H0N33P0T |

You can at least consider the highly lethal makeshift grenade to be a one-time fluke, I really doubt she can pull that off again. I'm fine with you wishing to change how damage is done with grenades though.

H0N33P0T |

For the sake of my own amusement, you can visualize every censored swears being literally beeped out.

GM Therenger |

I'm not sure Tavin is still with us, either. It's not like there was a ton of interest for this game - I took all of you guys. If we still have a good 4 I am okay with that.

GM Therenger |

We have a solid five then. I'll give Greff or anyone else a day to respond in gameplay and then move things along if there are no other questions for Martya.

Greff Kondo |

Alright guys, I think I'll have to step back from this game for a bit, school has just been pretty busy with extra-curriculars and college applications. It's been a good ride so far, and I'm interested in coming back if in a few months if that's possible, but it just doesn't work with my schedule at the moment.
- Steffanio

GM Therenger |

Thanks for the heads up, Staffanio. I remember those days!
As a general observation, it seems like the passion level is not there for this game. Disney has created an expectation of rubbing elbows with canon characters, making whole cloth standalone adventures set in the universe a harder sell.
We could take an inventory of who is still interested in regular posting; I think we have Honey and Rel for sure. I'm open to the idea of recruiting so long as we're not effectively starting over.

GM Therenger |

I'll throw out another option to this group. We could start over with a competely different module - something from the old days. That means new characters and I'm going to tweak the char-gen guidelines because we definitely had some min-maxing that was causing balancing issues this time. If neither of these options is interesting, we'll close up shop.

Uret Jet |

See, you gotta just do what I do. Wing it, toss some dice, and let the GM handle things server-side. ;)

H0N33P0T |

In regards to minmaxing by the way, which I'm. Well aware is mainly Honey herself here...

Uret Jet |

That entire video was great overall, thank you. And there's more of it too! Windetful, I approve.

GM Therenger |

This was a bad time to lose Greff. Not sure if Mal is still with us or not - he's been inconsistent on other games as well. I have an idea for the new players which involves going through with the break-in right now. Let's pause for a couple days while we bring in the new characters.

Dartel Tarkin |

Ready to work!!

Dartel Tarkin |

Aloha!! Got a quick question for you -- the skill list you have for H0N33P0T; is that from the REUP? I only have the 'RE' portion, so some of the skills in your list are different than the ones I have (which, I presume, are behind the times in their placement).

H0N33P0T |

Not quite sure what you mean by "REUP" there, but regarding her skills they were from what the GM here provided us initially years and years back, when we first tried this venture. When he offered me a spot in the new version, I mostly just copied what I had from there to here. Comparing them with my book [SWRPG 2nd], I do actually notice now that they are indeed different then what's listed...

Dartel Tarkin |

REUP is apparently the 'Revised, Expanded, and Updated' 2nd edition. ... going through the early posts in this thread, there's a pointer to the Rancor Pit, which has the 2nd Edition REUP rule download about 2/3 of the way down.

H0N33P0T |

Ahh, I didn't know it went by that name. Thought it was just a tagline. Yep, thats the book I have.

Dartel Tarkin |

Roight!! A couple of thoughts bashed themselves together in my head, resulting in an attribute tweak (Strength down by a pip, Knowledge up by a pip, putting 3 out of 6 attributes at the same 2D+2 -- he did get described as a Generalist) and a skill tweak (Streetwise and Space Transport Repair both lowered by +1, Tactics and Brawling both gained at +1). Minor (quality) alterations to smuggling compartments, plus a few extra gear purchases have occurred as well ...
... and 'The Truth ... ?' of who Dartel Tarkin really is (for flavorful future RP) has been semi-established/suggested for the GM's approval.
Might it be possible to get Drifter and I into the RP, and Hack Anslash can catch up to us as we go? I get the sense we're maybe holding up the game.

GM Therenger |

That seems sensible. Whenever he's ready, Hack Anslash can just "be there."
I also believe Mal is coming back which is good. We should have a strong group!
Dartel, you obviously put a lot of thought into your character backstory. It looks great and I appreciate that. I was thinking that for this new group I would change it up a little, so that you have all your memories and came to be on Red Barren on purpose. More on that soon...

Dartel Tarkin |

Dartel, you obviously put a lot of thought into your character backstory. It looks great and I appreciate that ...
... unfortunately, I really didn't put much thought or research into it -- it's 90% of what just pops out of my head when I get enough information put into it. :D But thanks; always good to know it's appreciated.
