Some time ago I used to do a lot of trading of the old D&D line of minis. Then I had to step away from RPGs for quite some time. I have come back an dof course bought into the Pathfinder minis.
One change I have noticed is it seems there is little trading happening, but rather it seems the trading went ebay. Lots for sale and clearly lots being bought.
Am I seeing this right? Is trading lost its place and ebay is now the way to go?

Think it just has a different market since it isn't also a side game on its own. Assuming your talking about the collectable D&D Miniatures that came out a few years back and not say...Grenadier minis from the 80's. :)
I'm not out to buy boxes personally. Probably just running into people looking for very specific things and the market being set up for that rather then a trading for play environment.
Likely one of the reasons why you see far less trading is that you can buy a case and basically be guaranteed that you will get all the minis.

Trading is more of an in-person thing. We did a mini-swap at Paizocon and there was a fair amount of trading going on. I always have minis I want to get rid of so I prefer trading to buying/ selling. My suggestion is you try and organize trading events at conventions and game days near you and you might find there are a lot of people interested in the swap idea.
I guess I just think back to the Maxmini site days and would love to see that again. But I understand how all things change.
Checking my local con is a great idea. They have cons here three times a year or so down by the airport.
I've done a fair amount of trading recently with the DDMs, and also bought a bunch as well. I've been trading the D&D minis all over the US and recently in England. I really enjoy the trading because I've made a few friends around the US and the one person in England.

So ti still existed up to two months ago. Good to hear. I wonder if it is dead or if ti will return. I had a blast trading on that site back some time ago.

Me to Danielc especially considering I was new to trading. I've even had one of the trader from maxminis contact me again and we just traded again via postal mail and email replies.
