Me and my missus did something similar on a trip to Kawaii - was an amazing place :)
By my own admission I have been pretty suck-worthy as a DM thus far recently due to a wild storm of sick children, busy holiday period and what not. The fact that I don't have the IK RPG as a PDF is hamstringing me more than I thought it would as well. It makes me reliant on my evening for updates - and my 8 month old hasn't been compliant with letting me get that time.
It is also getting to that time of year - where Christmas Cheer is being spread and my Clan will begin their sojourn down to Australia for the purposes of familial visitation and such. Given that we'll be doing the holiday thing, it will curtail my ability to get on the net, and make DMing PbPs impossible for that period.
I remain committed to the campaign as steam-punk / alchemical tech Russia combined with undead monstrosities and dark magic among the savages will be cool once I can get the teething problems out of the way.
So with that in mind - I'm going to stick the campaign on ice for a few weeks while I travel down to Australia, and look to getting back up and running on the 10th of January (after my return to Malaysia).
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and look forward to the return of Ogrun undead with gaping chest cavities and snapping ribcages.

Fun fact: I forgot you can use feat points to reroll, I should've used one on my charge attack.
not me. i ordered the main book and thats it. it cost me almost as much to ship it as the book cost me, so no more hardcover tomes until i move back to hawaii.
it's the 11th here in Korea so i think its the 10th for most of you!
hopefully that means we will get back on track.
only one of my games remains active, 3 have slowed to a snail's pace, hopefully this one comes out of hibernation. the other games are dead and gone.
This will come back - I am easing back into work today and will need to consult the tome of rules tonight to get things ticking along.
One more day will be needed before I can fire off IC. As intimated above, my work day was epic and I'm still recovering slightly from jet-lag.
Sigh - another day passes and my youngling conspires to restrict me from getting to my physical rulebook. It's a difficult tome to access one handed with baby on chest.
There is one piece of news though - Black Dow has stepped away from the game. He has suffered the same problems I have with lack of a PDF copy and his work is picking up so he has withdrawn as he hasn't felt able to sink into the system.
I'll adjust the in game thread to suit... you know when I get a chance.
Double epic sigh - another night and another failed attempt to get an update in... I'm beginning to think that my home situation (having a young youngling) isn't conducive to running an IK RPG at this time. I find it very difficult to refer to the book as I need to spend alot of my free time at home with the young-un... and can't post from work as I don't have a PDF.
So I'm close to closing down this campaign - but don't want to be an ass to everyone that I've led on thus far. You've all invested time and trust in me, and I've thus far not followed through on that.
However, I can offer you an alternative that would be easier for me to provide and do a better job of. I have all of the PFRPG rules electronically and most of the APs as well.
Would you be interested in swapping out to either a Rise of the Runelords, or Reign of Winter (when it kicks off)?
Sure, it's too bad about this game but if you can't you can't, family has to come first.
Reign of winter would rock. I know what you mean. I keep trying to run other systems but usually end up going back to what I know best.
Reign of Winter might pull be back into the fold... I've just dropped out of another pbp and a converted Rise is on the ropes, so my dance card might be slimmed down.
Having the rules online would make a huge difference, however mark me as an alternate should everyone jump ship as I did pull out early.
That would be ok with me. i just started DMing Kingmaker here on the boards, but I would still like to play in whatever AP everyone chooses.
i haven't gotten very far in any of the APs so either is fine with me. i have only a passing familiarity with any of them.
i'd stick with this group though for whatever we play.
Well it looks like Reign of Winter it is. I am really sorry that I couldn't get this up and running... but better to be honest and up front than try and string it along.
Obviously you are all in, and there isn't any need for recruitment. Though let's wait for the player's guide (should be late Feb) before finalising characters for it.

I'm currently running a IK game, it's a bit of a pain but the new book does help a little by giving an idea of what an encounter level points should be.

This particular tome has been kicking around in my PDF folder for a while now and I've had a hankering to inflict it upon some willing people.
If you're willing to throw down a quick and dirty 7th level character, then we can tool around in the Monastery for a bit while we wait on the Reign of Winter. If it proves to be fun then I can keep it running once RoW starts up as well.
PFRPG, 7th level character, 20 pt buy, all paizo and 3pp after review, standard WBL, HP max at 1st, 1/2 round up thereafter, two traits.
No background needed. You are all part of a treasure hunting group that is after some loot. Just give yourself a rough personality and we'll launch in.

drayen here. Here is a dhampir kinslayer inquisitor I created for a recruitment. I will bump him up to level 7 right now. I made him with an animal companion (Animal domain). Would a wolf (large size at level 7) be too big/much for this module? If so, I can rework the character.
The monastery is 95% indoors and contained, and while the corridors and doors on the map are 10ft wide - some of the rooms are reasonably small (like 30 x 30).
Would you be interested in keeping the wolf medium size and taking the following advancement at level 7:
AC +2 natural armor; Attack bite (1d8 plus trip); Ability Scores Str +4, Con +2

i have been looking to test it, and while i have just made one for another game i am in, it is a high level gestalt game but lv7 seems like as good a place as any to test it by itself

I was leaning towards Samauri, but we seem to have enough bashing power, I'll look at Ninja and see how that come out.

could use one of those. i will be playing a warlock but they dont get full spell progression and they get the small spell list and few spells per day since they have the blast they dont pick blasty spells, mostly utility.
divine magic (healing) will be needed, and more arcane couldnt hurt. the warlock conversion i am using is more of a support caster/support blaster
BD - middle aged is fine.
Sasha / Balodek - both dwarf or aasimar would be fine.
Milo / Daniel - MT is perfectly fine... but remember you'll be a level 7 character with only 2nd level spells castable. Limits you to a heavy buffing role, but up to you in the end.
