hey all.
So I will be running first steps in a month or so and was wondering if anyone has any of the maps in digital form suitable for play?
the issue is that the current maps have things I dont actually want on it.
like secret doors, the locations of the baddies, stuff like that.
Any help would be great, thanks guys.

You can save the images from the scenarios using Acrobat or Reader. Right click on the image, select the 'Select Tool' and then save image as.
This process usually eliminates any extra map icons, such as numbers, trap locations, and critter locations. Secret doors are another matter. You will need to edit the image using MS Paint or another similar tool. Once you are satisfied with your map, use whatever image processing software, Photoshop or somesuch, to size the map to one square = 1".
You will need to tile the maps when you go to print them. Very few PFS maps fit on standard US paper sizes.

I do this for a lot of maps that aren't available as flipmats. I pull the image into Visio, which automatically handles tiling once you get the scale set. I then print on card stock so the maps last a while.

I think the last encounter in First Steps #1 is the only on avalible for purchase. It is part of the Ambush Sites map pack.
First Steps #2 uses the Haunted Dungeon flip mat
First Steps #3 uses the Waterfront Tavern and River Crossing flip mats
Unfortunately, the big warehouse in #1 is not, as far as I know, available. Which is a bummer because if they sold that one as a flip mat (w/o the hole in the floor. I can draw that in) I'd grab one up. Getting sick of drawing it...

Extract the map from the PDF, scale it up, crop it to 16x20, print it in four tiles on heavy cardstock (or print it in one piece on a large-format printer) and you're good to go. I'm just about to cover mine in protective vinyl laminate.
