Shifting damage to your familiar?

Advice

Dark Archive

Is it possible? Is there a spell or feat or anything that lets you have your familiar take damage for you?

The Exchange

Not that I know. It would have to be limited to keep it from not being a free +50% HP.

Well even worse, the Tumor Familiar has Fast Healing 5 when attached to the Alchemist.

UMD and the spell Shield Other.

Yes you can.

Combine the following familiars, items, skills, and spells:

Improved Familiar: Inevitable Arbiter. Regen 5 (chaos) and construct properties means it is virtually immune to death (chaos is a rare property in a game which is mostly good vs evil).

Item: Familiar Satchel (UE p64). Provides total cover to your familiar to prevent it from taking attacks from weapons and spells that might shut down it's regeneration.

Skill: Use Magic Device. So the Inevitable Arbiter can use a wand.

Spell: Shield Other with Reach Metamagic to increase the effective range. Place this spell in said wand.

Have your familiar cast it upon each and every party member. Now the familiar absorbs 50% of all of the party damage. It will slowly regenerate it all.

Finally: wait for your GM to throw a heavy object at you.
