Why does everyone ignore javelins, they add str to damage, they are simple weapons, and with quickdraw (a feat my fighter would never be without) they fire at full rate, add amentums to up the range if you must.

Then when you can fly you're the cheater...This is why giants throw stones. Because someone in Gygax's group pissed him off when they flew around killing his troll instead of taking it in the face.

Well if you ready your action and then hit him, the damage you do is definitely going to impact his concentration check. But then again "smashing the wizard's face" generally means that you've dropped him, and he's not going to be casting anything, perhaps ever again.
