I want an heroic AP that rocks Golarion

Most of the APs I read/play are usually the same in the end.

You saved the world such that nothing change in the world of Golarion. I think this is quite boring.

What I'd like in an AP is that once you've finished it, the world is not the same anymore.

Players could have unmade kings, build up armies that invade other kingdom, Islands have risen from the sea, others may have sunk, sent some gods to oblivion, whatever. But I want my player to feel truly heroic and that their name is blessed or cursed by the whole Inner sea.

So far I didn't see any of these stuffs in the AP but I've only read a few.

I understand that Paizo doesn't want to cause chaos and mayhem in their lovely world but this is becoming too dull.

could you lead me to an AP which has what I was explaining above ?

Kingmaker: Rule a kingdom, fight a war change the river kingdoms forever

Skull & Shackles: Defeat the Chelish Navy for once and for all, become the new Hurricane King.

The world is often changed after an AP is over.

KM, especially beyond kingmaker suggestions in mod 6 have very big things that can happen

Depending on how you run Kingmaker and any of the "Beyond the AP" stuff,

spoiler:
there might not be a Brevoy.

I'd say that's a pretty big deal...

In any AP, the campaign world is "shook up" as much as the DM wants it to be. But I wouldn't expect any huge changes from Paizo that would change the face of their world and make their older products they're trying to sell null and void. :)

EDIT: added spoiler just in case.

Problem is, a story that drastically shakes up Golarion will result in, well, Golarion being different afterwards (duh). Which leaves you with the effect that:

- all further APs will have assume that this story happened, and happened in a way that was predetermined by the AP. Not exactly a poster child of "the players' choices matter", more like a case of railroading

- all APs published earlier (but yet unplayed) will have to cope with the fact that the parameters have changed, sometimes drastically.

Welcome to the Metaplot!

Of course, the other option is to reset Golarion after each AP. Which somehow is counterproductive to "making the world never be the same".

The easy solution for the GM is to make their version of Golarion their own. There's no reason an AP can't end with some sort of earthshattering changes to the world that the GM has presented to the characters. In future APs, it'd be a relatively simple matter for the GM to incorporate those worldwide changes into their version of the setting.

Just because Paizo is publishing Golarion as a campaign setting, it doesn't mean that a GM can't coop the world and make their own changes to it.

KM I thought so ... although this is not really earth shaking but to be honest I havn't really read it so I don't know ... But I believe that's a valid proposal. ^^.

@Midnight Angel and Jenner : I agree that it's a risk for Paizo for previous AP there are plenty of solutions : Play it "before" the shaking events happened, play it in another part of the world which wasn't touched by the changes, set it in a "parallel" universe where nothing was changed (ie sort of "reset" golarion).

There are plenty of ways it can be handled.

IMHO Paizo have been well known for their excellent AP contents, they brought mature contents but now I got the feeling that the AP are more or less "the same". I mean the settings are different but in the end it's all the same kind of quest.

Bring on more epic APs (by epic I don't mean that it has to be higher levels than usual, I mean heroic ... You "meet" gods, go to other planes, play with the laws of the universe)....

Come on Paizo take risks. I know you can. :D
