[Honest I'm not just trying to find a reason to play with a doll...]I don't believe a bunch of plushies sitting on the table during PFS games at game shops and conventions would really help attract adult players. Or younger players for that matter, since I'd have to explain to parents why a group of adults have stuffed toys on the table. It would attract attention and curiosity but honestly I don't think it would necessarily be a positive thing.
To state it more bluntly: The day I have to carry a stuffed goblin toy to a PFS game to get an in-game advantage would be the day I quit PFS. The plushies are a fun thing that I know a lot of people will like (including my kids!), but they don't have a place on the game table.
Just because someone is an adult doesn't mean they're going to negatively react to a plushie. And no one would force you to use one, wear a shirt or bring a folio instead.
And to be blunt, I'd be more concerned that a group of parents watching a rpg game were concerned about stuff animals more then the people taking turns around the table rolling dice to murder and main their enemies in order to rob the enemies afterwards. Stuffed animals may not be something your into, but the Paizo shirts aren't something I'm in too. I'd rather have a game that caters to many types rather than just a select few.
Plus I'd rather see an someone as obese as me sit at a table with a stuffed animal, rather than have to squeeze into a the same shirt, two sizes below comfortable, for a convention. And that wouldn't be enjoyable for anyone in eyesight, or nose-smelt for that matter.
