What themes pervade your game? What rituals does your group have?
In my current Pathfinder game I chose out this song to start off each session. The players are to listen to it and get their minds into character before we start...
LYRICS:
COPYRIGHTED 2008 by katethegreat19Lost in darkest blue
Endless labyrinths weaving though
Will you stagger on,
with no star to light your way?
Share with me your tears
All your troubles and deepest fears
I remember when
you chased all my shadows awayWon't you take my hand?
Come away with me from this land
Let me give to you
all that you have given to me
Fly horizon bound
Find the moon behind darkening clouds
Even far apart,
know our souls together will beWhen the storm draws nigh
Dreams will shatter before your eyes
Know that you're not alone
When the battle starts
I will comfort your restless heart
You'll know that you are homeWhen your stars stop shining
Endless vines around you winding
Know that you're not alone
I will give my all
So your tears will no longer fall
Down, down on sorrow's stoneLook into my eyes
All eternity you will find
In this fragile heart,
know that you will always belong
Shout into the night
Show the darkness that you will fight
Hopeless you may feel,
but inside I know you are strongKeep me in your heart
So we'll never be far apart
Let the bonds of love
break these chains imprisoning you
Always you will find
Shadows lingering close behind
Lift your spirits now,
We shall be together soonWhen the storm draws nigh
Dreams will shatter before your eyes
Know that you're not alone
When the battle starts
I will comfort your restless heart
You'll know that you are homeWhen your stars stop shining
Endless vines around you winding
Know that you're not alone
I will give my all
So your tears will no longer fall
Down, down on sorrow's stone
Many of the themes of the story I'm telling with the players are repeated there - the encroaching darkness "When the storm draws nigh Dreams will shatter before your eyes." Next session is the 10th, and each session has ran an average of 8 hours. They are 900 XP short of 4th level and my plans run well beyond 20th level this time.
Another little ritual is the fact each session has a chapter name.
Thoughts?

Me and my players have a ritual.
They enter my apartment with a metric ton of junk food.
I warn them that their near 30-year old bodies can no longer eat like that without consequence.
They ignore me.
They eat their buffet of cookies, dried meat, and potato chips as I munch away on some carrots.
The next session sees about 2 or 3 full combats due to having to take breaks as one of my players go ride my toilet while making terrible moaning noises and the other's eyes roll back in their head from their high blood sugar.
I'm seriously considering banning junk food as it's actually becoming detrimental to the flow of my game.

I know how you feel. Pizza delivery has been a big problem for me.
Game starts at 6.
Players arrive at 630.
Players begin talking about what pizza to order at 645.
Player admits awkwardly to not having money at 650.
Player strongly argues against a certain company's pizza or quietly retracts his order if he doesn't like the low grade pizza being ordered at 655.
Play begins at 7.
Pizza arrives, derailing the game at 725 for 20 minutes.
Toilet derails game from 930 to 955.
Game ends at 10.
It would be well worth my time to ban pizza and provide snacks.

A ritual that we've let go by the wayside was that I'd break out the d30 as we sat down to game and then passed it to another player to spin. He had to get it to spin for a good 30 seconds before it could stop. If we got a high number, we'd do well as a party. Low numbers meant we'd have a bad day. It was incredibly accurate, with only one time ever being wrong. This prompted the GM to do the same, with the same results. One time both sides rolled 1's and we joked we shouldn't play as everyone would just poke out their own eyes with their swords if they didn't just trip and fall on them :)

Didn't mean to touch off a discussion of gamer dining habits. I have banned computers from the table (other than my own) but food never seemed to be a distraction.
I haven't had a real group of emotional RPers in a long time. Back in the day when we were more into story telling, everyone would find theme songs for their characters and we would make mix disks of the songs.

Where we play there is a statuette of a wizard with a crystal ball, if you ask a question and pass your hand over it, the wizard gives an answer. So we usually ask the wizard if the whole party will die in tonight's game.
Some responses:
"It's not in the stars."
"Consult someone of the opposite sex."

Every humanoid death gets the "Wilhelm Scream" sound clip from my GM laptop.
I end each session with cliff-hangar-like excitement and play the end "Dr. Who" music.
One player insists on curbing his really great roleplaying battle talk because whenever he comes up with a great line against a foe he fails his rolls. Every darn time.
