Ally is magically put to sleep. Normally a standard action within reach you can shake him awake. Here's what I have so far:
1. Throw an Alchemist fire in an adjacent square. They take 1 point of splash damage and wake up.
2. Shoot an arrow at them and hope you roll low.
3. Communicate with your summoned creature to wake him.
The goal here is to wake them without causing damage if possible. Assume that running up to them and shaking them awake is not an option.

A rooster and a Daylight spell?
Imitate the sound of a dripping faucet or the drunken jerkbags getting high outside my bedroom window?
Roll Diplomacy to kindly ask the bad guys to wake them up for you?
Roll Intimidate to not-so-kindly ask the bad guys to wake them up for you.
Use a Summon Monster 1 spell to summon a Fiendish Kitten who will instinctively want to curl up in the exact spot where your ally has rested his head and will proceed to claw his scalp until he is roused.
Ask one of your fellow party members who is standing closer to the guy to wake him up for you.
Let the bad guys wake him up by stabbing him because the rules of the thread only stipulate you do little or no damage to him.
Don't wake him up at all. He's been kind of cranky lately and he needs his rest. Eventually, he'll get up on his own anyway.

Two-weapon fight and nonlethally throw your shield at them. You take huge penalties but 1d3+str nonlethal at -10 to hit is as harmless as you can get at levels 12 and above for full-BAB characters.

Shoot an arrow that doesn't deal damage, like a pain arrow.
If you think about it before you need it you could ask the GM if it's possible to combine smelling salts with a pheromone arrow. That way you could even wake an unconcious friend up.
Except pheromone arrows still do damage. you could aim it at the square next to them maybe, and have the smell be bad enough to affect 5' from point of landing.
Use blunted arrows, and do the damage in non-lethal by taking a -4 to you're attack. worked for me a few times.
other than that, the only arrow that does no damage is the dye arrow. Also, it's a touch attack, so that makes it easier to hit you're ally with the arrow.

Are you kidding? That'd be an EXCELLENT way to wake a sleeping ally!

I like create water. Hrm, how loud can ghost sound get? Then again, who ever preps ghost sound? I'd only try an arrow if you stock blunts and the ally is armored. Say, couldn't you cast alarm with an immediate trigger?
You can produce as much noise as four normal humans per caster level (maximum 40 humans)
while a roaring dragon is equal to the noise from 32 humans
