Why does a Witch get a swim bonus taking the flight hex?

Am I missing something here? Or is that supposed to by a bonus to the fly skill not swim? I just don't get it.

Yeah it's supposed to be because the witch is more buoyant. Not very realistic for most kinds of swim checks (like diving or fighting current), but I suppose it helps with keeping your head above water.

Or maybe the same power that she uses to propel herself around while she's flying through the air can also be used to propel herself underwater. Being able to just will yourself in a certain direction doesn't stop being useful just because you're in a liquid rather than a gas.

I like to think that she can suppress her buoyancy as a free action, and the bonus to swim simulates her doing so as needed.

also the bouyancy would help keep her from drowning, that might be a good part of the +2 to swim.
