Goblins are overpowered then? They are 6 race points. Take your pick.

Actually Goblins are 10 pts.

+4 Dexterity, –2 Strength, –2 Charisma: Greater Paragon (2 RP)
Goblinoid: Humanoid (0 RP)
Small: Small (0 RP)
Fast: Normal Speed (0 RP)
Darkvision: Darkvision 60 Feet (2 RP):
Skilled: Sneaky Rider (6 RP)
Languages: Xenophobic (0 RP)

Kobolds are terrible. They really don't have much of anything that makes them decent for a PC race.

They are only 5 race points, but play even worse than that. Their skills bonuses are more suited for NPC use. Attribute bonuses are terrible of course.

Actually Kobolds are 8 points:

+2 Dexterity, –4 Strength, –2 Constitution: Greater Weakness (–3 RP)
Reptilian: Humanoid (0 RP)
Small: Small (0 RP):
Normal Speed: Normal Speed (0 RP)
Darkvision: Darkvision 60 Feet (2 RP)
Armor: Natural Armor (2 RP)
Crafty: Skill Bonus (2 RP) X3 + Skill Training (1 RP)
Weakness: Light Sensitivity (–1 RP)
Languages: Xenophobic (0 RP)

You could easily make them a 10 point class by giving them the Weakness Stat Array:+2 bonus to one physical ability score, a +2 bonus to one mental ability score, and a –4 penalty to any other ability score.

That would give them a +2 Dex, +2 (Cha,Int, or Wis), -4 Str

I'm still getting 5. They only have two skill bonuses. Craft (Trapmaking) and Profession (Miner). Although you are correct that the table should read Xenophobic for their language.

Kobolds
Type: Humanoid (reptilian) 0 RP
Size: Small 0 RP
Base Speed: Normal 0 RP
Ability Score Modifiers: Greater weakness (–4 Str, +2 Dex, –2 Con) –3 RP
Languages: Xenophobic 0 RP
Racial Traits
Defense Racial Traits:
Natural armor 2 RP

Feat and Skill Racial Traits:
Skill bonus (Craft [trapmaking]) 2 RP
Skill bonus (Profession [miner]) 2 RP
Skill training (Craft [trapmaking] and Profession [miner]) 1 RP

Senses Racial Traits
Darkvision 60 ft. 2 RP
Skill bonus (Perception) aka Keen Senses 2 RP

Weakness Racial Traits
Light sensitivity –1 RP

Total 7 RP

The addition in the Race creation section forgot the Skill Bonus (Perception), but then that makes them an advanced race...
I suppose we could slot it in under Senses Racil Traits to get around that
Also it should be Xenophobic for Language

Ah good catch. Idk why I missed that. I was actually looking at the Kobold as presented on page 133 instead of the table towards the end of the book.

Started a Kobold last night, he is a fragile rogue1/sorcerer4 and doesn't do as much damage as the straight rogue or Paladin, but he has a lot of skills and his specialization in acid spells makes him all the more fun to play, plus he has failed his wing check twice with a fly score of +8.

Ahh my bad. In that case you could give him a Standard array:

+2 Dex, -2 Str, +2 (Cha, Int, or Wis)

For example I would play an "Alpha" Kobold with +2 Dex, -2 Str, +2 Cha in a heartbeat. That would be a 10pt Race.

Human could be given the Flexible trait or something.
