Here's the quick info:
* I'm a player, not a DM
* This is a custom campaign
* We are attempting to destroy a VERY large evil artifact, but every time we shatter part of it, 8-16 White Wraiths spew out
* The Wraiths are able to reach us in 2 turns
* Party composition is:
--> PC's: Paladin 14, Magus 14, Ranged Fighter 13, Sorcerer 13
--> Cohorts: Cleric 12 (positive), Witch 12
The cold damage isn't an issue, the dex drain is, and the fact that it's based on a touch attack makes this an incredibly dangerous encounter that we are going to have to repeat several times.
I'm looking for ways to deal with this. Obviously, killing as many as possible before they get to us is preferable, but it's impossible to kill them all. So how do we defend against a horde of creatures that deal dex drain as a touch attack (which honestly, it's almost impossible to miss that attack roll...). Thoughts?

Hm, Death Ward only works against Energy drain, not Stat drain :-/
Ghost Touch will be 16k per set of armor, not sure we can swing that. Definitely a good idea, though... maybe I should try to 'research' a spell that grants the Ghost Touch property for a short time? I see that 4 Winds has already done this...

Consecrate says that it "-1 penalty on attack rolls, damage rolls, and saves", would this reduction in damage rolls apply to the dex drain roll as well?

You're looking at it wrong. Your job isn't to kill the wraiths but to destroy the object so ignore the wraiths.
Wall of Force is your friend. Drop a few of these to box yourself in around the item and just go to town on it.
Once it's destroyed Teleport away.

We wanted to do that in the first place, but Wall of Force can only create a "vertical" plane, so we would have no way to stop the wraiths from coming in from above or below us :-/

Dig 2 holes. Wraiths cannot go deeper than into an object then it's size.
An incorporeal creature can enter or pass through solid objects, but must remain adjacent to the object’s exterior, and so cannot pass entirely through an object whose space is larger than its own.
Have the witch cast animate object on a few items that can damage the artifact first then dig a super narrow (paper thin is best)8-10 foot trench around yourself in the floor and ceiling then cast Wall of force enough times to completely block yourself off and put it flush against the wall. This will require them to go 10 feet into the ceiling and floor to go over or under the wall which they can't do unless they are size large or larger (and if they are just dig deeper).
Sit in your pretty box will the animated objects destroy the artifact and draw the attention of all the Wraiths. Once it's destroyed laugh at your GM and teleport away.

I guess I neglected to mention that the artifact is hanging from the ceiling some 200' in the air...
But I'm especially liking the Forcecage idea (as it will allow us to fire arrows and spells through the 'bars'), and the idea of building a structure around us with 10' thick walls/ceiling, and just wall of forcing the front.
Really good input so far, thank you for your thoughts!

Oh, even easier then, don't bother attacking the object either. Just dig a big hole under it and fill it with acid/lava. Then destroy whatever is holding it in the air. 20D6 falling damage will easily blast through it's hardness and probably break it then the acid will eat through it. Might take a few hours but it will inevitably be destroyed and you all will have done nothing to attract the attention of the wraiths.

Artifacts are generally destroyed by specific means, so some 30 dmg/round probably wont do it.
We already destroyed two large pieces of it and had to teleport out to escape all of the wraiths. The parts that fell were obviously destroyed, so conventional means seem to be working fine thusfar...
