Provided nothing else is attacking the party at the time. Even then if you were at full hit points that a significant drain on a wand, and smarts more than a little.

Abraham. The spell infuses your life force and pysche. The entire it's not you argument seems like selective reading on your behalf. Not trying to be rude. Just allowing that the shadow is you. Just not your body.
Well it isn't rude so no worries there!
I understand what you are saying -- however there is a lot more to spell casting than simply being 'you' -- you have to have your spell components (many wizards and witches for example will be without), you have to be able to perform the vocal and somatic components too.
I do wish this spell was more clear -- after all what happens if your body dies while you are projecting? Is this spell more akin to astral projection, or a polymorph spell (or indeed neither)?
Also life force and psyche isn't all that in and of itself, and there are other spells with similar abilities.
Personally I'm going to stay with you can't cast -- after all you left large pieces of yourself behind, you aren't even technically in a body of any sort and for the easiest point if you don't have eschew materials you don't have a means to cast due to the lack of material components.

Here's the issue I ran into that put this spell on my hate list.
Party hits up an ancient tomb in the middle of a swamp and enters the first room, wizard makes himself comfortable and casts this spell while the rest of the party sets up to defend him. Wizard then proceeds to stealth through the whole dungeon identifying every trap and strength draining/blasting every target he finds (taking 20 on every room and a 1 level dip into rogue pretty much let him find every trap and creature in the dungeon). The only moderate challenge he faced was a Mummy encounter who was immune to his strength drain so out comes the Direct damage spells (magic missile actually) to blast it into pieces while hovering 30 ft in the air.It was a PFS game and it was temporarily ruled that he could cast in that form (left it up to the coordinator to make that ruling).
Total cakewalk of a scenario.
Afterwards I went back through the other scenario's and modules I own and realized that if this is legal there are exactly 4 encounters in the 2 dozen+ modules I own that would be any challenge to this wizard.
I see it as broken and totally against RAI that it could ever be intended to work this way.
Just need something to show that for PFS play.
